asos
I have installed Bismarck!_Fs9_and_FSX.zip--the Bismarck battleship--downloaded from the SOH Donationware files. Can anyone tell me what its ICAO is or how I can find it in another manner--e.g. starting from an airfield xxx and heading xxx miles in a heading xxxx? napamule2
All I could Google is that it's 30 miles off the coast of France. mrzippy
Location is N49 10' W17 12' README files always have good info! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
asos
mrzippy, I know those coordinates from the Readme. But I could not fly there--the ocean is huge, tried--was of no use. If you can post a flight plan here, or attach a flight in a zip starting near the ship. Napamule, Thanks for the . The coast of France is long, but I can try searching by flying. Googe may have some information during the hunt for it.
napamule2
You don't have to try to 'find' those co-ordinates by flying around. You go to 'World/Map' and enter the co-ordinates there. You choose elevation of 500 ft which is low enough for you to look around to find the Bismark. I don't have that ship or the shareware so just giving you tip of how I myself would do it. When you find it SAVE A FLIGHT so you can go there 'in a flash' from anywhere you are at. Tricks of the (Sim) trade. Learn! asos
napamule, Did what you say and found it--it was first pointed out to me by a simmer friend here in Greece.
napamule2
Glad to hear you found the ship. Not flying to location is sort of 'not real' but we don't have a choice in Sim. So we 'cheat'. Later you can find nearest airport and then knowing the bearing you can fly to it. I once spent 2 hours trying to find an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana coast so I know how it feels. Like a needle in a haystack. But, that is what we do for 'fun'. (And try and stop us - hehe).
