I have read several threads on this topic and have tried everything recommended but am still not seeing any traffic. I installed My Traffic 6 per the instructions word for word in to FSX. Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Also, when i added it do the scenery library in FSX, it didn't add anything to scenery.cfg. I had to manually type it into scenery.cfg

Odd, I would never thought that you would add AI traffic of any kind to your FSX/Scenery Library.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

@ MrZippy - Whilst no part of the Ai package will be installed into the Scenery folder for most payware AI addons (such as My Traffic and Traffic 360 for example) there will be an entry required into the scenery,cfg file which references the products own versions of AFCADs used to allocate parking............

@ hockeydude07 - The product should have added the reference itself but your manual additions have the following errors..........

Scenery.cfg file - Area117 entry

Remove the space between the = sign and the C:\ (i.e. should read Local=C:\.........)

fsx.cfg file - SimobjectsPath.7 entry

Remove the quotation marks (i.e. should read .7=C:\..............)

You may also find that having the space between Mytraffic and Professional may cause issues. If so, rename the top level folder to MyTrafficProfessional Or MyTraffic_Professional and amend the simobjectspath entry to reflect the change.

Regards

I think Brian hit it on the head, remove the quotes. I've got Traffic360 and this is what mine shows...

SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\JFTraffic360

Have you tried the suggestion I mentioned in the last paragraph of my original post. Sometimes the use of a space in a folder name causes problems, especially when it is referenced as a link to something. Basically it can be mis-read as either a blank character or as a web link html character (spaces are written in html as %20%).

So first, try removing the space and test.

Another common issue that could be the problem is that the install path, being outside of the main FSX folder, is too long to be properly recognised by FSX. By placing it in C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic may be causing the issue.

So, if removing the space does not work try uninstalling and then reinstalling into simply C:\MyTraffic\ or directly into FSX (which I assume was/is the original default install path the product selected/selects).

Regards

I tried the space thing, nothing. The default install path is actually not in the FSX directory. I installed it into the C drive per the installation instructions.

Odd, I would never thought that you would add AI traffic of any kind to your FSX/Scenery Library.

That is quite normal. All traffic addons except one (UT2) use BGL files containing the AI flight plans. And these BGLs are scenery elements, usually saved into your default scenery folder:

\Scenery\World\Scenery)

equals

[Area.001]

Title=Default Terrain

Texture_ID=1

Local=Scenery\World

Layer=1

Active=TRUE

Required=TRUE

in your scenery.cfg.

You can just as well move all those BGLs out of the default folder and put them into a scenery folder of your own (\FooTraffic\Scenery\traffic*.bgl") and add that to the scenery library. That way you can turn traffic on or off independently from the sliders by enabling or disabling this entry. Or you can switch between different traffic addons.

As for MyTraffic 6, the "Scenery" folder in the main program directory "C:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic" contains the aforementioned AFCADS and the AI flight plans ("Mytrafficcommercial.bgl", "Mytrafficglobal.bgl", "Mytrafficmil.bgl"). Not sure if these files are there right after installation, IIRC you have to generate them yourself, using the GUI, once installation is complete. At least it looks like I did, the file timestamps correspond roughly to when I purchased it.

Thanks, Oliver! I was a little more concerned that he was putting it into the Scenery Library.
