Guest voncheeseburger
I have some recorded flights, which i want to replay on high settings and record with fraps. obviously if i do that normally i would get horrendous lag, so i want to know if its possible to reduce fsx framerate to like 0.1 but keep it drawing like 60fps , and then record that and speed it up later. anyone know if this is possible? win8 by the way :)
napamule2
FSRecorder can be used to RENDER videos which will help with compensating for low fps. Start replay with FSRecorder (not sim) and choose render. Then when you play back that rendered video, you can THEN use FRAPS to record. No sure about 'high settings'. High Quality will depend on video card. The 'high settings' (sliders) will determine the frame rate. I use 30 fps (locked) in sim, then use Sim 'instant replay' or FSRecorder 'instant replay', and record with Fraps at 29.96 (NTS) full screen and get good quality and no stutters. Speeding up a 'stutter' only makes the stutter last less time (hehe). See my sig for specs. Good luck. Oh, Win 8 might have some effect (full screen, sliders (try backing off), processes running in background, not disabling 'compose' (desktop feature), Anti Virus dosesn't have 'game' option (AV is always trying to update itself..), other programs that are 'calling home' (see process manager), run fsconfig (Start tab) and disable running processes you don't need, screen saver OFF, Messenger OFF, and maybe use 'Frame Rate Limiter' program). And your Video Card might be DX11, but FSX is DX9c, and definitely NOT DX12. So you want good videos, or you want multi-tasking, and high frame rates (60?-why?) but you can't have everything-that's life-limitations may apply. cianpars
I did read somewhere that a lot of the best videos were made with FSX running at 1/2 speed, then the 1/2 speed video speeded up. Whilst recording with FRAPS is fine at 1/2 speed, I'm not sure if you can do this in FRAPs or whether you would need another prog to speed up the resulting video.
