Two lighting questions (cabin lights and taxi lights)

Sorry for more of my entry level questions.

1. I downloaded tds-boeing_737-700bbj_scandinavianairlineshb-jja.zip and its cabin lights seem to be on during the day. Is there something I can edit to turn them off at unwanted times?

2. Is there anything you can do to prevent AI aircraft's landing/taxi lights flashing on and off at random.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Neil,

1. There should be a cabin lights switch on the overhead panel, if there isn't you'll need to add one.

2. No, if you're seeing them flashing on and off while panning or slewing around, the light effect is only visible at certain angles and will disappear until you pan or slew back within range.

Shift+L toggles panel lights. Ctrl+L toggles landing lights. No need for any switches.

Thanks for your replies Tiger & Napa.

My Q1 related to the pax cabin lights (as visible from outside in Spot Plane view) rather than the panel lights on the flight deck. On this particular a/c, they come on rather early giving it an odd look in the late afternoon. So my q. was whether I can go in and edit their on and off times somewhere so they don't come on until later in the day?

Thanks

The README usually has good info in it!

Utility Panel Guide:

The TDS Utility panel included in this package controls all of the ground service vehicles and equipment, as well as all of the aircraft lights. Some light switches, such as the Landing Gear and Strobe lights are tied to the default keyboard commands. Others, such as the Cabin Lighting, is only controlled by the Utility Panel. By default, this panel may be brought up by pressing SHIFT+8 at the same time.

Time for new glasses Chuck! Or a little more sleep for ya! Cabin lights are in the passenger cabin, not the cockpit. ;)

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Yes you can! As Mr Zippy says, there's a TDS Utility Panel for the cabin lights, and you can install different landing light & taxi light effects into your AI aircraft until you find one that you like.

There is line you can edit in the TdsSEA.xml to make the cabin lights switch on later.

This is how Hiroshi explains it.

You need to open the TdsSEA.xml gauge with notepad which is located in the Panel/Tds737ADVCONTROL sub folder.

(L:PkySEA, number) 7.5

In the XML

Change that 7.5 to a lower number.

Then will start the cabin light later.

It's the angle of the sun.

I was not aware of the panel, or the XML that controls the switches by what the angle of sun is (very clever) but I was close - the switches are in the COCKPIT. Switches not LIGHTS. And I probably get more sleep than you do... I just had a 3 hr nap..how about you? (snicker snicker - neener neener)

Edit: Perhaps if he turned the COCKPIT lights on he could SEE the switches on the panel (ha).
