Adding a taxiway to 3rd. party scenery?

How can I add an extra taxiway to a 3rd. party AFCAD so that its surface shows in FS9? The problem is that the 3rd. party ground texture bgl does not allow the taxiway to show through - though AI traffic do use it. I tried copying the original AFCAD, adding the extra taxiway to that copy and installing that bgl file in a higher priority folder - but the concrete surface still doesn't show.

Also tried deleting everything in the new AFCAD (copy) apart from the taxiway and nodes and setting it a fraction higher than the airport in the full AFCAD, but the taxiway still doesn't show up.

Thanks for any help with this.

How do you know that the 3rd party ground texture does not allow the new taxiway to show through? If what is in the original AFCAD shows, then the ground texture would have to be devilishly intelligent to distinguish between what is old and what is new etc etc. Land tetures do not do that. Presumably the original AFCAD is at a higher priority in the FS9 library than the ground textures? If not, make it so. Presumably you have edited AFCADs before? Add the taxiway, replace the original AFCAD with the new, and it has to show. If not, when you open the airport in AFCAD make sure there is not a clash with another version. Last question, which is really the first one: when you made the taxiway, did you make an "apron route" or a "taxiway"?

I know it's the ground texture file because I found the file responsible. Removing that one bgl file allows the new taxiway to show through. Ground textures do work like that I am afraid, though I have yet to understand the mechanics of why. However, the ground doesn't look good, so better I do without the taxiway (it's a taxiway, not an apron route). Yes, I have made AFCADs before, in fact whole airports.

And yes, the AFCAD with the taxiway is at a higher priority - it still doesn't show through. It is quite often the case with 3rd. party scenery in my experience with scenery building (15 years now).

In the end I created a new taxi link along an existing taxiway, so that at least a/c don't run along the grass. This has unlocked AI traffic that previously just sat immobile for ever, though it does mean that a/c sometimes meet head on. Not ideal, but the best I've been able to achieve so far.
