Qballbandit
Hello, For users of FLATTX, or those knowledgeable in the area of "exclude" statements - I'm trying to exclude autogen buildings from default scenery, using FLATTX. My dilemma is understanding how to use multiple exclude statements in the scenery.cfg file. I need to remove a bunch of building near an airport, but need to do it in multiple attempts, meaning running FLATXX multiple times to create the new scenery.cfg file after each excluded area. How do I get a multiple exclude statements to be recognized in the scenery.cfg file? I add more than one, and FS9 only recognized the first statement. Do I have to number them like flatten files? I can provide more info if this is not clear enough. Thanks very much! :) Neil
Qballbandit
I think I found my answer in another post while doing a search. Scenery.cfg only allows one exclude line per scenery entry. I'll try ExcBuilder2, since I also have that installed. Neil
tiger1962
Scenery.cfg only allows one exclude line per scenery entry. Neil, I think they can be numbered like this: EXCLUDE.0= EXCLUDE.1= EXCLUDE.2= Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." Qballbandit
I will certainly try that then. Thank you very much for your reply. If this works, I am golden! :) Edit: Not having luck with multiple lines. FS9 only seems to recognize the top exclude statement. So, I have the following after a mass exclude, and the results are favorable: [Area.002] Title=Default Scenery Active=TRUE Layer=2 Local=Scenery\BASE Remote= Required=FALSE Exclude=N41 46.94,W88 43.88,N41 45.22,W88 40.17,all But, I have other default airports, as well as other areas near the above exclude that I have to "clean up". (default autogen buildings) Not sure how to proceed? Neil
leuen
I tried to have two flatten lines numbered as suggested above in the same area, and it really works. Thanks tiger1962, best tip I got since FS5, or almost! Visit "The Old Hangar Forum" Visit "FS9 Vintage Flying Forum"
Qballbandit
But, does it really work with exclude statements? For now, I'm putting the additional exclude statements in scenery areas that don't have one, but would like know if there is a smarter, cleaner way. tiger1962
Leuen, you're welcome! But Neil is correct, it does only work with Flatten statements, you can't number Excludes in the same way. I would make the additional excludes with ExcBuilder or SBuilder if they are nowhere near an airport - otherwise I use AFX to clear trees and tall buildings from an approach, for example. leuen
Fine to know. As said by tiger1962, try either ExcBuilder or ADE. It also has an excluding tool. Some objects could be deleted with one or the other tool. Personally I use AFX. With its interface it allows to do almost "surgical" extractions.
