...it started to give me too much tuh-pain lately...

No, deleting the default.fxml and default.wx and prepar3d.cfg files does not help, the start generates the new files and then I get the same message again, followed by a CTD. No search found me the answer, deleting the fxml/wx files doesn't fix this drek.

Use the client and do a repair install. If that doesn't work reinstall the client. Should tak no more that 10 minutes.

Thanks Vic. I already reinstalled but I strongly believe I will yet to have another (and not 1) opportunity to try your advice.

That Orbx stuff takes forever to reinstall, Base + base update + orbx libs + vector + all LCs, maaaaaann....

ORBX is NOT required to be reinstalled if you are simply doing a Client reversion.

For those who would like to know how to do it, it's simple:

1: Uninstall the Prepar3d Client .msi from the default programs listing

2: Install the `new` Client .msi

3: Re-run FTX Central and let it re-synch all the addons.

Absolutely no need to reinstall either the whole sim, nor any addon that doesn't get impacted by the client.msi.

And that includes scenery
