andrewkif
Hey there everyone! :pilot: I made a flight last week from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Abu Dhabi Intl. Airport, operating as Etihad Airways Flight 928. The aircraft used was Etihad's Boeing 777-200LR. Unfortunately, I was too preoccupied with the heavy morning traffic and take-off to take any good screenshots while at Schiphol. Hopefully next time I'll have some takeoff pics to share! Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy the screenshots! Please let me know what you think. :) Best, Andrew Embracing the German countryside after takeoff from Amsterdam.http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/andrewkif/ETD928/download_zpscl3tx6yf.jpeg Cruising through the afternoon at FL330 over Slovakia.http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/andrewkif/ETD928/download_zpsqpoe6w0t.jpeg Passing over the Carpathian Mountains while in Romanian airspace.http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/andrewkif/ETD928/download%202_zpsklcsaa8l.jpeg Flying over Black Sea, with the Turkish coastline coming into sight.http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/andrewkif/ETD928/download_zpsrxocgegi.jpeg Skirting around Iraq and Syria - going safely through Iran instead.http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss19/andrewkif/ETD928/download_zpsrhmdhkpq.jpeg “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.†- Leonardo da Vinci :pilot:

il88pp
That's a great route. I did something similar once, in one of my souped-up default 737 long range. Think I ended up in Dubai. I flew back in a freshly painted F18. Ferry flight via Iraq. Many refueling stops and some hairy night landings at badly lit short runways. In east Turkey was the worst one. Lots of cloud, at night, tiny airport in a gorge, out of fuel, and two go-arounds needed. Ran out of fuel on the taxiway.:) Glad I had made it to the ground. It was a close one. It had been a very long flight, afterburner off, so I was very tired. I think it was my second flight that day. At the time in the rain the airport seemed a miserable place. The next morning the weather had cleared. I went or for a few loops and to enjoy my new texture, and I was surprised by the beauty of the place. The gorge looked inviting, not menacing at all. With a small city and the field in it, as well as lots of green. I fly the 737 mostly. I'll try to chase down cm ethiad texture for it, can't be that hard. Your thread has made me want to make this trip again. At first glance I like the pics, nice colours. And nice texture I think. Can't really make out more on this tiny screen.:) il.
