Orbx Airdrie scenery problem

Recommended Posts

I know this is not the right venue for this issue, but I figure screen shooters probably have the most experience with Orbx scenery.

Also, it involves a screen shot.

Beyond the obvious missing textures, some scenery elements also blink in and out of existence.

Have installed the latest patch and libraries. I have done the research and tried all known fixes with no success.

I have also contacted Orbx about this – no reply yet.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. :) Thanks — Bob

Bob, you can just run the installer again or use this guide to uninstall an airport, then run your installer and library again. I've done it both ways, your choice. Make sure the installer is completly done doing what it's doing before pushing the finish button. Then run FTX Central to sync everything, that's all folks. :D

The FTXconfigerator is located in the main FSX folder under ORBX/scripts

Thanks for the suggestion Adam. Unfortunately the problem persists. Missing textures and optional scenery objects coming and going.

I've never run into anything like this with any other Orbx scenery. Totally stumped?!?:mad: — Bob

There is an update to CNK4 on the support page that might fix your problem Bob.

Did you run program as adminstrator?

Try running the FTX Vector configurator.

Sometimes a good swift kick helps as well. :D

I know, you can just delete everything and start over. ;)

Give Jan a good swift kick for me, maybe two. :D

They have a new library out now that rectifies some texture problems that the unified iclookup morphing caused in some people's program. Maybe your one of the ones that got rectified. :D

Updated FSX Central and installed the latest libraries, ran FTX Vector config auto-elevations et al.

Still buggered! No improvement whatsoever. Even tried going back to my default pre-REX textures.

The Airdrie scenery is just screwed for me. Can't even think of any other things to try. :( — Bob

This is a long shot but give this a try after installing the new Libraries Orbxlibs 160708 go into FTX Central, Settings, Troubleshooting and Force migration. Perhaps Re-running the Migration tool will allow it to re configure itself using the data from the New Libraries.

I have this Airport CEF4 but haven't flown into the area to see if its been affected i will give it a look and see if mines also got affected once i get home.

Bob If all Fails for now when flying in the Area try bringing your [scenery Complexity Slider] down to [Norma]l this may get rid of some of the objects that are causing the problem. At least until i can check my scenery and hopefully tinker around with it till i get a fix if i'm encountering the same issue.

Well Ill be D.a.r.n i found a Fix

You shouldn't have to do this but it works.

Step 1.) First Backup your Main Texture folder in your Main FSX Folder >>>>> [FSX/Texture] just copy it and throw in a new folder titled Backup.

Step 2.) Then Navigate to>>>> [FSX ROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEF4\texture]

Step 3.) Copy all the .dds files from the>>>>> [FSX ROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEF4\texture]

and throw them in the Main >>>>[Texture Folder] in your FSX Root Folder. [FSX/Texture]

You can now see all the wonderful cracks on the runway and other missing textures dont forget to bring your scenery complexity slider back up.

Thanks for the fix. All the textures are there now. Here's another interesting problem I just noticed:

These cars seem to exist in 2 .bgl files. Do you have this issue?

I'll have to do some detective work to find the culprit.

In fact those cars are in 3 other BGL's Looks Like ORBX Uses the same exact Objects in the following scenery's

1.)(CEN4) FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEN4\scenery

2.) CRJ4FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEJ4\scenery

3.)CNK4FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_GLOBAL\FTX_AA_CNK4\Scenery

The BGL is titles [vtm_ab_vehicles_lib.BGL], I took a peak inside those BGL's via MCX and saw those exact Car MDL's

Thing is i'm not Experiencing the same issue as you are but i will look into it and see if i find a fix

I wouldn't Disable the other ones considering the Different Sizes.

OK Bob This should fix your Problem............

Step 1) Navigate to FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEF4\scenery Remove (vtm_ab_vehicles_lib.bgl) drag it to the desktop Do not delete in case you have to put it back.

Step 2) Navigate to FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEJ4\scenery (Right Click)Copy (vtm_ab_vehicles_lib.bgl) (do not delete just copy.

Step 3) Paste that BGL you just made a copy off into FSXROOT\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_CEF4\scenery Re-start the sim perhaps youroriginal CEF4 BGL is funky lol.

That's because I hit some cars in your scenery! HA!:mad:

Edit: and I'll hit a lot more!

I might have known it was you! There were cheese covered fingerprints all over.

Apparently my nose-punch exemption comes with a price?!

Stay out of my parking lot! You hear! I have mean and hungry Dutchman eating dogs!!!

(True, they're a little constipated, but always ready for more.)
