dogdish
I know this should be posted in hardware, but who looks there? Just thought it might be interesting to the FSX forum. First thing I seen anywhere with the newest GTX1080 and FSX Would have preferred to see the CPU at stock clock though. mrzippy
Interesting! Doesn't look much better than mine. Now I don't feel so bad!;) Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
W2DR
That's probably because it isn't any better than yours...LOL. Talk about gross overkill. A GTX1080 for FSX? Give me a break. I think the guy who shot the video should spend more time practicing landings and less time measuring GPU performance on an old and tired FSX which really doesn't care much about what video card is used. dogdish
Shoulda' spent some of that cash on flying lessons. The guy admitted in the youtube comments that he was a FSX newbie, considering he wasn't even using the autopilot, I think he did rather well. Besides the point of my post was FSX with a GTX1080 GPU anyways. Rupert
[quote=dogdish;1981765 Besides the point of my post was FSX with a GTX1080 GPU anyways. Which point? Is it that he has a wonderful GPU? If so, that's wonderful if he's doing bang bang shout them up games. But if you're discussing FSX or Steam, you're totally missing the boat! FSX, & FSX Steam have nothing to do with the performance of a GPU. It's all about the performance of the first core of your CPU!! Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. It's all about the performance of the first core of your CPU!! I'm assuming in your rant you meant bang bang SHOOT them up games. If you even paid attention to the video you would have noticed that the THIRD core was doing all the work. That's probably because he never heard of Affinity Mask. My eight core processor is working on ALL eight cylinders in FSX. I've also noticed improved performance with every GPU upgrade I've made through the years, FSX being the last to benefit, however it still does improve. In the video I never saw his frame rate drop below 70FPS which I feel is significant with the GTX1080 considering he was using a WQHD monitor.
