BillD22
Some shots from my shiny brand new rig. In this series a Navy Grumman A6E "intruder" makes an arrested landing on board the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CVA-41) These would be scenes from some time in the 1970s. Shots use the payware Virtavia A6E for FSX; USS Midway freeway from Sim Outhouse and the freeware aicarriers addon for FSX. [click on the images for a full screen view] Making our approach 2 miles out on a beautiful sunny and cloudless day In the groove Will we catch the 3 wire? Over the round down Looking good - a tad high Good trap. Hook up, flaps up, speedbrakes in; taxiing out of the arresting gear area past the line of parked F4s Heading for the plane handlers and hookup with the parking tractor yellow gear Stop. Brakes set. Ready to shutdown and head to the debrief while the deck guys back our airplane into a deck edge parking spot
Kdierken
Very nice looking screenies Bill, like the angles. I feel as though I am there in the chase plane & on the deck. Kenny
peer01
Great job Bill!!:cool: Is it possible to couple two Carrieres? Makes it a bit easier...:D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mrzippy
Great shots of the Intruder, Bill! Nice to see it go over the Round-down rather than smacking it like I saw an f-8 Crusader do on my '71 Westpac cruise aboard the U.S.S. Hancock. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! Rupert
Great Bill! ;) Glad it got down safely. SAR duty at sea was always a bitch!! Thanks! Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
PhantomTweak
Very nice set, Bill! Thank you for a very nice post. May I ask, do you use AICarriers.exe or AICarriers.NET? I very strongly recommend the .NET version. It works a lot smoother, and uses a lot less of the CPU the the old .exe version. I think it was re-writtten to use the .NET framework by Mr. Orion over on the FSDT site. I think I can find a link to dl it if you want. Just a note to consider :D Still a great post, though :) Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! mikeandpatty
Great shots - but remember, as soon as the director sees the crossdeck pendant drop clear of your hook, he/she is going to have you fold your wings as you taxi forward.
BillD22
Guys: many thanks for looking and all the great comments Pat: Thanks for the info - far as I can tell I've got the aicarriers .exe version - seems to work o.k. Great shots - but remember, as soon as the director sees the crossdeck pendant drop clear of your hook, he/she is going to have you fold your wings as you taxi forward. Mike: Does this look better? Forgot to hit to hit the "F" key :D:D.

I strongly recommend AICarriers.NET instead. It really does give the computer a lot more resources available for running the Sim, but hey, if you're happy, by all means, go for it :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out!
