FSX/FSCopilot/Windows 10

I had been running Windows 7 and FSX and FSCopilot worked just fine. Then I did the free upgrade to Windows 10 in March. FSX and FSCopilot worked properly from the get go. Then in late April, the Sim started to crash while in flight, and it happened about five times. Then on the next "crash" I got the following error message:

Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third party software program (add-on):

Name: FSCopilot for FS2002/FS2004/FSX

Version 1,7,0,0

Company: FS- French Dev Team

File: Modules\FSCopilot.dll

Then it asks if I want to run it anyway, and when i say "yes" it shuts down. And it says to uninstall the program or disable its ability to start when running flight simiulator.

Any suggestions?

Steve

It appears, from the message, that the FSCopilot.dll is either corrupt or missing. Or it could also be related to a corrupt/missing Registry entry.

Check to see if the file is present and to see if there are multiple copies of it - for example is there a copy with a different file extension such as FSCopilot.bak or named slight differently, FSCopilot_bak.dll or FSCopilot_copy.dll for example. Such files could point to a file being replaced if you have added any new stuff recently. If for example a .bak file exists you could try renaming the current .dll file to something like FSCopilot_old.dll and then rename the .bak file to .dll and test.

If the file is present and there is no other copy your only option is un-install/re-install.

To rule out a Registry error use Registry repair tool (google to see what tools are available) to scan the registry for errors.

Regards

Brian

I got the same issue! I have been flying for months in a virtual club using FSinn/FScopilot.

I'm running FSX-SE under WINDOWS 10 (french language). everything was OK. Last time I flyed successfully with other members. Last successful flight was on May 29th. Then I got the same issue. Since that time, I uninstalled and installed again FSCopilot and FSinn sevarl times...

And now I always get the same described issue!

Thanks for any help.

Update have fixed it

first off uninstalled FSInn then FSCopilot completely ran CCleaner removed remnants in registry then ran REGEDIT and selected FIND and searched for any entries for FSFDT then deleted these FIND NEXT will go right through all of the REGISTRY until you cannot find any remnants of FSFDT.

Re-install FSCopilot and FSInn and follow the instructions on VATSIM website to installing them to the letter WIN10 is no different than WIN7 must be installed as Administrator and now it is all up and running smoothly again. One happy chappy:pilot:
