MongooseMike
I've been off of FX for a while and am just beginning to install the game again and back when, I had a great add-on that enhanced the clouds and sky dramatically. It even reworked the pavement at the airports so you could tell the difference between the concrete and the asphalt. What's a good add-on these days for this type of enhancement? Any recommendations? MongooseMike
Thanks for the advice. I checked it out and I do think that may be what I had a few years ago. (That was the program I had way back when. I'm downloading now the latest and greatest. Thanks again.)

MongooseMike
I downloaded the REX Essential and installed. After installation I read the manual and pretty much followed the recommended configuration for weather, clouds, texture, etc. figuring I'd go back and make changes as I saw fit. The problem is each time I tried to fly with real world weather, the weather fails to download. I will get the green band across the top of the screen saying the weather was downloaded successfully and then a moment or two later the game will pause with a message that it was unable to update real weather. It was late so I only tried a couple of time so I'll give it another shot today. Have you run itno this before? By the way, if I just open FSX, I have no issues. usb777
Sometimes I get that to I think sometimes my server. What I finally did was bought Active Sky. Use REX textures and Active Sky weather. Been happy ever since. Mike G. MongooseMike
Thanks guys. And that was the OTHER program I had for weather years ago! Half the fun of getting Flight Sim back up and running seems to be a lot of "Aha" THAT program!
Ragtopjohnny
My recipe for realism? REX/Megascenery Earth 2.0/Orbx FTX (Global and regions and airports) and Shade along with SteveFX DX10 fixer. Oh yes - aircraft? Flysimware's Velocity XL RG or Cessna 441. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. MongooseMike
Thanks Johnny, I'll check out Megascenery and Orbx. I have REX but have been having issues with weather themes not loading. It keeps pausing to tell me that so can't really fly it yet.
