asos
It took me more than an hour to unzip and install the file below--I almost gave up trying... FSX - FSX Modern Military FSX Have Blue 1001 Name: rdghb.zip Size: 7,165,581 Date: 09-03-2007 Downloads: 5,105 FSX Have Blue 1001. The 'Have Blue' program was built in the legendary 'Building 82' where the A-12 and U-2 were built earlier. Early on November 16th 1976 'Have Blue' 1001 was loaded into a C-5A Galaxy and flown out of Burbank to the highly secret Test Facility near Groom Lake, called Area 51. On December 1st 1977, Skunkworks test pilot Bill Park climbed into the Have Blue prototype with the designation 'HB1001' and took it on its maiden flight out of Area 51. This is a modified version of Craig Richardson's F117 Nighthawk for Flight Simulator X, painted in the first Have Blue camo paint scheme. Includes pictures and history. This is a complete aircraft and new panel modified by Mark Rooks/RDG Aircraft. e Now if you try installing this, you should take sedatives before. Rooks has gone too far--he used to have simpler zips. This kind of zip will discourage many simmers from downloading his files. I hope he sees this and does not repeat the same kind of zip in the future. A simple structure, like that of most files, is a million times better. I like his files and have many, but I will pass them by from now on. Try installing it to see what I mean.
mrzippy
Took me almost a minute and a half from start to finish. Yeah, a real gut-buster!;) Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
JSkorna
There is nothing wrong with the file, the file structure, or the .zip. I am going to suggest User Error for this one. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png

Luke
Apart from there being ZIPs within the archive, I'm not sure what the problem is. The files at least appear to be logically grouped together. Cheers! Luke

Cheers! Luke Agreed! I wonder what he's using to unzip his files? 7Zip works great. About 2-3 seconds for each zip file. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! PhantomTweak
7Zip is my program of choice for dealing with zips. It zips files up very nicely, and unzips them even faster. Works on CAb files, RAR's you name it. I use it for all of "stuff". Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! PhantomTweak
My apologies! There is no software anywhere that could deal with Mr. Zippy! :D :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! jandjfrench
Hi asos, Do you have a problem with finding multiple gauges unrelated to the downloaded aircraft inside a folder contained in a rar contained in a folder found in a zip found in a folder found in a zip. Jeez.
asos
I do have 7z and use nothing else-it has the highest compression rate and can make a 50 mb file into a 19 mb file And I hate zips within zips within zips within zips. I am not one who has time to waste neither do I like needlessly complicated procedures.
napamule2
First of all this zip was uploaded in 2007. Second of all there is nothing wrong with his zip package. With WinZip I can click on 'View Style' to expand the folder(s) or different zips to show the PATH for each file. At any rate, you must read the 'Readme' for notices or instructions (dah) or you are extracting 'blindfolded' (will get messy). Your complaint in groundless and is more a reflection of your lack of experience. Mark Rook is a very generous and prolific simmer that deserves praise and not criticism. Deal with it. W2DR
Even with the nested zip files WinRAR extracted the whole thing in less that 3 seconds. I don't know about other "zip programs" but nested zips aren't a big deal with WinRAR as it will extract in batch mode. No need to do each one separately.
