springbok12
Whenever i establish pmdg 747's on localiser / glidescope it always flies slightly to the right of centerline. Since most of my scenery is Addon scenery could it be bum info coming from default scenery or is it a bug in the pmdg 747. Note all my addon scenery is layered above all the default scenery. pschlute
Try running the registry repair tool from flight1. It may help. http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library
ronzie
First find this file and check it date: H:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\BASE\Scenery\magdec.bgl. Mine is 3/3/2003. These is the FS default magnetic deviation file world data. Some installs change this data. It is not up to date and synced to navaid mag deviation data in modern add-on airports. In the old PMDG support forum on AVSIM it was brought up that some add-ons updated this file and upset the data in the PMDG database causing the aircraft to offset to a slightly almost parallel track. This would be noted on default airports. If your default airports are OK then the add-ons have a different setting from default which the PMDG uses having a similar effect. Try looking up the mag offset on a default airport (ADE is safest to use) or perhaps AFX but I do not recommend afcad as some this have changed. For ADE open the stock (default) airport, select a runway, and look at the ILS/LOC properties mag. decl. Now open the add-on airport by using ADE's Open Direct From .bgl browsing to your add-on folder. One of them has a similar af type file showing the runways and navaids. Open one of those ILS/LOC navaids and look at its deviation property. It is probably different than the default. Save a copy of that add-on bgl file in a safe folder outside of FS to restore if necessary. Edit the navaid mag decl values to those you noted in the default scenery for that airport. You can then compile that .bgl file and try a landing to see how your aircraft reacts. gwillmot
Easiest way is to move the magdec.bgl to its own scenery folder. Create a new scenery folder, like MAGDEC, then add a "Scenery" folder under it. Put the magdec.bgl in the MAGDEC/Scenery folder. Put the MAGDEC folder in your FS2004 addon scenery at the top of the list. Activate it as you would any other "normal" scenery, and all "problems" that were caused by other addon sceneries should disappear.
