MG49
Not to be negative but I am using FSX Steam and whenever I try the multiplayer option to fly and interact with others it kinda sucks really......not a lot of people in any of the sessions for one thing and then when you do find people they're really just kind of horsing around and the dialogue is lame (sounds like punk kids) to nonexistent. I have my old boxed version (FSX Gold) but a new laptop with no dvd burner/player to load it. What are my options to fly and connect/interact with others? Seems like the old boxed version with gamespy was better for this because as I recall I could research the flight groups via Google and it gave their address (number sequence) and I would just plug it in and I was there. Hell one time I even had this dude take the controls of my aircraft as he gave me a personal lesson on approach/landing and it was SUPER informative and helpful. I'm just at a place now where I wanna fly/connect with other simmers. Thank you people.

PhantomTweak
I just happened to notice the other day, looking for something else, that Hovercontrol uses FSInn for hteir MP stuff. I don't know how many others do also, but I am pretty sure that DC-3 Airlines uses FSInn, but I may well be wrong on that. I'm not a big MPer, just too asocial I guess. I DID participate in DCAirline's Operation Varsity last year, and they used FSInn for both FS9 and FSX both. I don't know if that's at all helpful. Hope so! Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! MG49
Thanks for the info. With FSOpen I can't get access to any of the sessions even if I follow the instructions perfectly but FSCloud looks interesting and more free standing so I think I am going to try that one. mqytn
If you want to go old school, there is a another set of servers called FSHost. Flightsim.com has an unnofficial FSHost server that I started multi player on long ago. Get FSHost client to connect your FSXSE to the servers and FSHostspy list all the servers to connect to. They work with FS9, FSX box, FSXSE, and P3D. And no, FSXSE does not connect to FSOpen. http://www.chocolatesoftware.com
