Falcons

Recommended Posts

Here are a couple of quick shots of the newest addition to my hangar - the Aerosoft FSX F-16 "Fighting Falcon"

These 2 airplanes - in the paint scheme of the Edwards Air Force Base Flight Test squadron - are climbing out of Miami (KMIA) en route back to California on a Monday after a weekend of tropical fun in South Beach

What - you may ask - are Edward's F16s doing beachside in Miami Florida? Well - let's just say these 2 guys logged their weekend flight as "Cross country instrument training" - perfectly legit ;):D:D:D:D:D

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Fantastic angle that first one! How did you do that? In GIMP rotate 30 degree right, then cut out rectangle from the centre or something? Fantastic!:):D

Guys - many thanks for looking and the good words

il88: I started with the built in external aircraft head on "Nose" view that comes with the F16 then used FSX view key commands to move out and right then rotated left to frame the whole airplane and include the wingman

Absolutely - no reason to get excited just because the flight ends up in Miami............. or Vegas :D:D

I still don't fully understand. Did you rotate in fsx?? or in an editor?

Up till now I used the hat switch and didn't remember you could rotate with shift numpad3

so thanks for that idea.

But whatever I do, I can't get the horizon to show at an angle. (In the editor it would work of course, but not in my fsx accel).

Btw, I love the f16, so kind words were easy to find.:) Both shots are superb.

Or maybe Rosey Roads, PR. The beaches are tan-fastic :D

The Navy gets the good liberty ports. Even the Marines wind up in a swamp, or a desert, or something. Roosevelt Roads, in PR, or Sigonella Spain, maybe The PI are all fantastic places to see...

Unfortunately Roosy Roads has been closed but in its day was a good one - it's a quick hop from there over to St. Thomas and the other Virgin islands or a short drive into San Juan & it's beachfront casinos. That plus destinations like England, Spain, etc. are logged as "Long range overwater Nav training" :D:D Absolutely positively required to maintain proficiency :D
