PhantomTweak
I would give it about a 7 or a bit more. If we knew the CPU model number, like is it an I5 or I7 or whatever... Also, just so you know, MSFS doesn't utilize hyperthreading. The OS, maybe, the Sim, no, so it's best to disable it and stick to just the 4 cores. Along with the FSX.cfg tweak: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=62 That's for a 6-core, by the bye, a 4 core is normally set to 14. Does that help you any? ghembree
Additional info that steam provides but no rating. I have 30 days left on computer for complete refund if it don't do the job. It runs fsx se pretty good scenery and aircraft look great however I do not know what a first rate system looks like and I am not sure if I want to undertake build. Thanks for taking time to answer and it helps.
evm
Two things to be aware of: the i7 6700 (without the "K") cannot be overclocked, so you are stuck with the 3.4 GHz. The 950 is not that great either, but it is good enough for FSX. If I were in your shoes, I would prefer the i7 6700K because of the higher base clock of 4.0 GHz and the option to go even higher if I want to. But then again - if you are happy with what you are seeing, why bother with benchmarking? Main thing is that it runs well - is it not?
CRJ_simpilot
The computer should be fine. The CPU is the latest. OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? ghembree
Would this computer rate 9 or better using 10 as very good and would you list a build of your choosing that is very similar and how much to build if it is a diy build. Will diy build do a better job than one listed for around $1250?
PhantomTweak
I would definately give that one a good score, for running MSFS. Either a 9 or 10. DIY's do seem to do better, as a general rule. Overall. I would, however make certain to get a really really good cooling system for it. Liquid cooled or cold-plate/liquid mix. Especially if you are going to overclock it. Too much cooling is just enough. You can, but it's difficult, overcool a computer system, and the CPU or GPU in particular. Integrated Chips (IC's) don't like heat at ALL. A good temperature monitoring software is a good idea, preferably with an audio alert of some kind. Just to be safe. The faster they are clocked, the more heat they generate, that the cooling system must then remove to the outside of the case. I would also make sure you have at least a 650W power supply. I, personally, myself, if it were me, would go with a minimum 750W, just to give myself a margin. Hope all the babbling helps a little bit :) Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out!
