Art Burke
Downloaded and installed the Cessna 182T Freedom aircraft. It flies like a dream - apparently turbo-charged - but, if you try to manually start the thing, when you click on the starter switch, it goes crazy. It starts spinning and climbing with the landscape whirling by worse than a Disney roller coaster! If you do everything else (even manually) and start with CTRL+E, the plane runs like a champ. Any ideas? Art - N4PJ Leesburg, FL
mrzippy
Just tried this aircraft, again, with no problem doing a manual start up. Battery switch on, turn key to start, prop spinning smoothly, turn on alternator and lights. Ready for takeoff. Try a totally different airport. Make sure throttle is at idle, mixture full rich, prop full rpm. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
Art Burke
Many thanks for the tip. I moved to a totally different airport, made sure everything was shut down, turned off, etc. The Cessna starts like a champ. Moved it back to the "original" airport and saved the "flight" and over-wrote the previous flight name. Starts like a baby attacking a fresh bottle! Again, thanks for the hint. il88pp
I have one or two aircraft that do this too. Cause of problem, not sure. Something like pressing buttons while in slew or when paused. Never found out what caused it exactly. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?295580-Flip-Flop-Aircraft-Engine-Starting [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
napamule2
It has to do with the relationship between the altitute of airport, what the author set the 'static_cg_height' in contact points, and your barometer (ie: 29.92). You can try pressing the 'B' key to set the correct BP but if the static_cg_height puts it below ground level it will zoom off. Set static_cg_height' to AT LEAST 0.20 more than the actual 'vertical position' vaues. When that 'out of control' event happens, hit the 'Y' key once then hit F1 to set ac back on ground, then hit 'Y' key again, followed by press of F1 (throttle cut) so it don't fly off like a crazy banshee.
