Ryanhop01
Hi, I have been a flight sim kind of guy for a while now, and with fsx you just can't win without having to pay $40 for some scenery packs. I find that the default scenery in the simulator is not great at all! Why don't they use google earth satellite imagery on the ground, I feel the game would be a whole better experience! Who's with me? :)
ScatterbrainKid
Depends what people want..:) Some are happy to concentrate solely on flying the planes and therefore the default FSX is good enough for them because it shows the vital stuff like rivers, coastlines, hills, mountains and airports in their proper places. Others want more realistic ground detail so they buy scenery like OrbX which improves everything to make it look better. And others want total reality so they buy Photoreal scenery which is like flying over google earth..:)
N2056
This reads like you think Microsoft should take up your suggestion. There is a reason all of the aftermarket scenery stuff exists...;) Robert Kerr 3D Modeler & Texture Artist I7 4790K @ 4.4ghz, GTX-970 w/4GB, 8gb DDR 3 RAM, two SSDs, and Win 7 64 bit. mallcott
This reads like you think Microsoft are going to do anything about it. You should research the history of the product, which was around for ten years before you even joined the forum. If you think DTG is going to change that format, you are in error. As with all previous versions the basic sim exists as a platform. You don't complain that your car doesn't have the music you like. You insert CD's and flash drives and tune radio stations that play the music you like.

Your problem is solved! http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
longbreak754
..........with fsx you just can't win without having to pay $40 for some scenery packs.......... +1 on the comments already made. When FSX was developed it was cutting edge software at an affordable price, designed to run on the then entry level of available computing power. WRT to spending money on better scenery - search this website library and you will find loads of free terrain mesh, enhanced scenery textures and photoreal scenery. And yes, unless I can find a way to make PrtScn work, I may very well ask you to help put my three views together at least once. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
