Never heard the F-100D being called a THUD. I thought that was reserved for the F-105 Thunderchief.

Nice looking SuperSabre!

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Bingo, I'm getting older, the Hun (short for the hundred in F-100), not the Thud, sorry about that typo and thank you Zippy for pointing it out. It was posted after my third dram, I confess.

and an interesting story about this particular aircraft: http://www.thisdayinaviation.com/tag/52-5778/

VERRRRY nice story Jan, enjoyed it so much, highly recommended read. Loved Yeager's reaction :) . The atmosphere is like that skilfully portrayed in Tom Wolfe's masterpiece "The Right Stuff." I read the book three times, the movie -while great- does not do the story justice at all, the book still needs to be read. A remark that I have not hitherto noticed in the numerous pictures of the Hun, mostly black and white, is the heat baked skin of the rear empennage due to the engine. In the Miliviz F-100 screenshots this is the -mandatory- common denominator between all models. I'm itching but this is a $60 toy...

"a SIXTY dollar toy"?? geez, I had thought it was "only" fifty! and either way, that's more than ive ever paid for a payware plane, even though I have many nice ones. nevertheless, now that they've upgraded it to include the totally clean model, I may end up buying it soon - or maybe i'll wait for a sale, lol.
