andyjohnston
Hello all, I've just made the jump to P3D, and am trying to get a hang of a few of the differences. One issue I'm having is with the flight planner. It won't let me save the plan, the button is always greyed out. Is this a know issue or am I doing something wrong? Andy Spent way too much time using these sims... FS 5.1, FS-98, FS-2000, FS-2002, FS-2004, FSX, Flight, FSW, P3Dv3, P3Dv4, MSFS

Andy It is not a problem on my machine and flight planner in P3D is a little different than FSX. for me at least..What I do in P3D is select Departure. Then Select Destination... then either IFR or VFR.. Then Enter...Then select Route and Navigation....and select "Save."...after that it the screen will show Save as gray as it is entered in Flight Planner and then it asks if you want to transfer your plane to the appropriate Departure and you decide....if NO you can return to flight planner at any time in the future.....I have found once I am in the air with P3D ...and I save a flight...I cannot just shut down...I must click on Save flight ...then see if it comes up again ...it usually does...if I don't do that. step ....later on .....on my machine ...that flight might not work at. all.... andyjohnston
That's the crazy thing, is sometimes it seems to work, like right after I read this and went to try it again, everything seemed alright. But then just now I tried to set it again, same result. Save is greyed out. Spent way too much time using these sims... Andy P3D will not save a plan if there are any "/" (slash) characters in the title or name if the flight plan. Remove them and the save button will activate.
