Hi guys,

Maybe someone con help me in this one, I want to use de aircraft model from iFly B737(wich I think is very nice an wel done), together with another panel, less heavy than de original iFly! Yes, I have a not very new computer system, I use FS2004 and in my system de iFly 737 run about 19 frames, wich is for me a bit slow(minimal 24 fps)to get a smooth fly! Maybe someone know how to do this(a merge maybe!!) I like very much this iFly 737, but with the original panel I get low FR, I hope someone can help me!!

Thanks in advance!

The autopilot function should be controlled by the aircraft.cfg file. Open your aircraft.cfg and look for a section that begins like below. If the line autopilot_available=1 is present, you should have an auto pilot; if that line says autopilot_available=0, change "0" to "1" and that might do it.

[autopilot]

autopilot_available=1

flight_director_available=1

default_vertical_speed=1800

autothrottle_available=1

autothrottle_arming_required=1

autothrottle_max_rpm = 90

autothrottle_takeoff_ga=1

If that doesn't fix the problem, does your substitute panel have an autopilot (check the panel.cfg file to find out). If it does, we'll have to look at the "air" file with "airedit". Hope this helps.

Hi KCD,

Thanks for your post, in the aircraftCFG de autopilot is on =1, should be good, but doesen't work, I just find out one thing, when I use the VC, in this mode the AP works!! is a bit of a problem, because every time that I want to use the AP, I have to change to the VC! its a kind of luxury problem, should I said! but a bit of a drag!

Just one more question, what is "airedit".

thanks for your help and time!

This is the description of airedit from the download I found at SIMVIATION.

GOOD Simulator/FS2004 AirEd Revised

211.88kb (10850 downloads)

AirEd - Fligh Dynamics Editor. This is a good copy of AirEd by William M. Roth. I have noticed that other versions of this utility are missing things. Like in primary aerodynamics under lift, there should be 8 records, not 6. This upload is for anyone who is trying to tweak the flight dynamics of FS 9 or GOOD SIMULATOR aircraft and might have been having a problem. Unzip to a folder of your choice. replace what you have been using, or if this is your first time with AirEd; just copy the AirEd folder where you want it. Open AirEd by double clicking on the aired.exe file, and click the special menu; then click on Set AirEd for Air files. You should now be able to double click any air file and have it open with AirEd. This upload is done because I think there are people out there who are trying to make money from the simulator community who have used their knowledge to make it harder for the average person to produce an aircraft that flys well. They do this in part by corrupting the original work of the AirEd author. Bob Chicilo.

I did "some" editing of the text so as not to "Offend" on this scared site.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
