Install autopilot disconnect alert

I need an alert for autopilot disconnection and just came across the very explicit information which Mslim provided on his #2 thread of 08/09/2014 at 04:15 PM.

Simply find either files laapdis.wav or c172_apdisconnect located in a Sound folder, copy it to the desired plane Sound folder and confirm or add the following syntax in the sound.cfg folder of the intended aircraft:

[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND]

filename=c172_apdisconnect

or filename=laapdis

maximum_volume=9000

I even found in FSX original C172 these items using a file c172_apdisconnect.

Couldn't be simpler but I can't get it to work. Tried several different aircraft, all other sounds are ok, no mispelling and so far couldn't find anything wrong that would explain the silent result which is all I get.

Could someone hint at what I could try further?

Any assistance will be of invaluable help.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot, ever helpful mr. zyppy.

I have tried adding to the Lear 45, Honda, Airbus A321 and Cessna 172SP.

As a matter of fact none of the innumerous aircraft which I use and have autopilot ever had alert sound.

This would indicate that the problem is elsewhere in my configuration, I guess.

Intend to look in the library for any aircraft which has such alert as that will define better why I am getting no sound.

Thanks for the response.
