Fly Hawaii charter flight around Oahu.

Yesterday the wife was a little under the weather, so I stayed home to take care of her and the dogs. When she crashed I decided to do a Bell 206 repaint that I could use while I fly charters at Hawaii. If anyone is interested in my Fly Hawaii repaint let me know and I'll try to figure out how to upload it in the repaint section.

When I finished my repaint I decided to do a sightseeing tour around Oahu.

I got called to Dillingham for a charter around Oahu.

We took off just after noon with the pilot (220 lbs) and my client, Mr. Money (200 lbs)

Flew threw the canyon then up the mountain for some sightseeing.

After that we headed over to the ranger station so Mr. Money could have some coffee with Ranger Jill. This gave me some time to stretch my legs and put the dogs out.

When they were done with coffee I took both of them (Ranger Jill 140Lbs) down the mountain to Wheeler Airbase to see the B-52.

Now I'm not sure when the B-52 showed up at Wheeler, but it sure made a cool shot.

Next they wanted to see the lighthouse at Ford Island.

I don't remember seeing a Lighthouse at Ford, but again it sure made for an awesome picture.

The last flyby of the day had to be the Arizona Memorial. This is well done and made a shot for my computer's background.

I just wish I knew how to add the Missouri to the scenery.

I flew over to the other side of Ford Island to the construction site to drop off Mr. Money and Ranger Jill.

Lastly, it was a nice quiet flight back to Dillingham where I ended the flight.

Beautiful shots!

BTW: Though I've flown Hawaii a little you got me interested so I just went back to PHHI with the standard FSX scenery software in my Honda Jet. Even though I had my air traffic settings at 100% no sign of your B-52. Are you using any add on scenery for Hawaii?

Frankly I have the ORBX packages for the whole Pacific Northwest regions, plus a few add on airports there, installed and from time to time a B-2 bomber shows up in a parking area at various airports in the region. Next time I fly out of the same airport, the B-2 is always gone. Maybe there are some Area 51 type flights that occur in Hawaii and the Northwest we're not being told about.

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

If you like Hawaii, you should try the Hovercontrol Hana Obstacle Course. It will REALLY challenge your chopper flying skills, whatever bird you use! There is a tower, with landing platforms at various heights, floating landing platforms, cilvilians you do NOT want to squish, and other "stuff" for the fun of it. There's even a Hotair balloon you can fly up to, go past, wave at the pilot, land on top of, without popping it! Try hovering near it, pointing at it or sideways to it and stay there, as it moves with the wind, rises and falls, etc.

Many fun things to do. I believe Hana is PHHN but I may be wrong on that...

It can be found, IIRC in the Scenery area of Hovercontrol. I am not sure if there is a version for FSX or P3D though. Take a look, and see! Hovercontrol has a ton of goodies like that, not to mention some truly excellently done choppers, panels for them, etc etc etc.

Just thought y'all would like to know.

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

I downloaded all the extras from Hovercontrol

I think the file you want to download is OAHUPACKAGE

There are a few files there for FSX Hawaii. The Honolulu Hospital and Fire Department Helipads 1 file adds some tough landing areas around the island.

I've loaded seven files for Hawaii and am still able to run good frame rates with my Dell laptop.

Do you think Hovercontrol Hana Obstacle Course for 98 will run in FSX? I'm not sure if that'd work out, but I remember running that a long time ago.

I loved it. Great way to sharpen a lot of skills. Will it work in FSX? I haven't a clue, although I do know there are tools that will convert scenery files from FS9 to FSX. I'll research that and let you know. Unless someone a lot smarter than I (which most are, I think) tells us about it first (HINT HINT!!)

Thanks. I'm going to look for those conversion tools.

I'm going to pull the cork on the Mission Maker software this weekend and make a few missions for the Hawaii area for helicopter flights.

I'm going to use default helicopters and default objects to keep frame rates up, but I'd like to make a few involved white knuckled flights.

So far my favorite mission is still the default oil rig mission, and I'd like to try and come up with some that can compete with that.

Trying to keep FS fresh and fun.

I took some time today to update my Fly Hawaii pilot.

It just didn't seem right to have a flight suit on flying around Hawaii, so I gave him something a bit more comfortable.

This took a while to figure out what goes where, but I'm extremely happy with the results.

Now that I have everything done I'm going to try and figure out how to upload it so everyone can Fly Hawaii.
