ork51
Hi, I have installed some fs9 ai aircrafts in FSX and it Works just fine except for the call sign, I have used editvoicepack to make a call sign "Danish Airforce" and it will work properly, The ATC uses "Danish Airforce 1" and no matter what I change in [fltsim ] section, it continue using "Danish Airforce 1", I would like to be able to insert the actual flightnumber (in this case A-008 or just 008), but how ?? I used AIFP3 to make the flightplan and made the A-008 ATC call sign with "F" flightnumber, (like I should) I hope that someone can help me here.:) Regards from a frustated danish flightsimmerORK51 I have enclosed a part of my aircraft.cfg file here below: (the four red lines I have added) [fltsim.6] title=MPAI_F-35XD_Late_RDAF_725Esk_A-008 sim=MPAI_J-35_Draken_AI_ONLY model=F-35XD_Late_Tanks panel= sound= texture=RDAF_725Esk_A-008 ]atc_airline=DANISH AIRFORCE atc_flight_number=008 atc_id=008 atc_model=Danish Air Force A008 atc_parking_type=MIL_COMBAT atc_parking_codes=DRA5 ui_manufacturer=MPAI ui_type=Draken ui_variation=F-35XD_Late_RDAF_725Esk_A-008 description=Saab J-35 Draken for AI Traffic. mrzippy
If you bring up that aircraft in your Select Aircraft page and it shows spinning on the screen, bring up Details and see what the flight number is and change it, if necessary. OK, just noticed that it's for AI aircraft, not a flyable one. This won't work. ]atc_airline=DANISH AIRFORCE Why the ] before atc? Flight number and ATC_ID number the same? Is the aircraft tail number 008? Could there be a problem with the leading zeros in the flight number? Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! ork51
Hi Mr Zippy Thanks for your reply, the ] was a mistake, when I copied the text over here, it´s not in the cfg file. The tail number is A-008, I have 16 different textures and ATC calls them all "Danish Airforce 1", my problem is, how I get ATC to call "Danish Airforce (A-)001", "Danish Airforce 002" and so on. I have tried to change many things in the aircraft.cfg without any luck, but I am not that experienced in editing the aircraft.cfg file when it comes to ATC handeling, but I think it must be possible to get ATC to use the proper number, because if I in AIFP3 change (in flightplan) it to use aircraft registration/tail number, then ATC says fx "SAAB A-008", "SAAB A-010", so it can be done, just how ?? I tried to remove the zeros and the letter and stroke without any luck.:(
mrzippy
Unless someone else comes along with a brilliant fix for you, I have a weird thought. What would happen if you stuck a quick panel folder into the Danish Air force aircraft folder and have it display under Select Aircraft. Then highlight that aircraft and select Details to see if you can edit the flight number there? Then when done delete the panel folder. Told you it was a weird thought! ;) Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
il88pp
In AIFP3, did you enter 008 in the flight number box? A008 perhaps? A-008 won't work. When using that in a flyable aircraft it is not a valid flight number. Alphanumerical characters only. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

il88pp
Thanks Wim. I just tried to create a flightplan. Screenshot will perhaps follow. I set flight number to: A008, and that AIFP3 does not accept as valid entry. Numbers only. Instead I then added A008 as registration number. That is accepted. See Wim's image, in the middle in the AIFP flightplan window it says: ATC Callsign: FN/Reg I checked Reg. (registration number. hoping ATC will call out (Lufthansa) A008 (Lufthansa + the Reg number including the A) Testing now. f16jockey_2
I checked Reg. (registration number. hoping ATC will call out (Lufthansa) A008 (Lufthansa + the Reg number including the A) Testing now. Without testing I predict it'll call Boeing Alpha Zero Zero Eight (or Airbus...) To OP: if you want the A included, you'll need to set atc_airline="Danish Airforce A" and add/edit that callsign with EditVoicePack. The 001, 002, ... will be the flight numbers from AIFP. il88pp
Got it !!!! I'm too tired from testing. So in steno form. EVP+>New+>Own Mods+>manuf+>Lufthansa (all voices, type lufthansa and sound will appear (already exists, just not as manuf.)) in aircraft.cfg: in section for lufthansa aircraft only: atc_airline=LUFTHANSA //was: Boeing In aircraft.cfg Lufthansa section I also changed this, but it may not be needed: ui_manufacturer=Lufthansa //"Boeing" in AIFP: ==>Add lufthansa 737 to aircraft list (after the changes) create your trafficplan. compile Result! (I used A007 in the trafficplan, as Reg. No., and set the plan to use reg.no., but I notice now, it only says Lufthansa 007, no alpha. Good enough for me for now. I'll try A-006 later (with a dash), perhaps, but can't be bothered now. It says zero zero seven. Good enough.) (using 007 as flight number doesn't work. that gives "seven" (no zero's) Edit, adding: (Ps, you were right Wim, the way I did it in the previous post gave "Boeing Alpha zero zero eight" (alpha and zero's ok, but no Lufthansa)) Whish I had seen your Edit sooner Wim, that would have saved me 4 hours:). But I'll remember it better this way...:D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
f16jockey_2
In aircraft.cfg Lufthansa section I also changed this, but it may not be needed: ui_manufacturer=Lufthansa //"Boeing" On the contrary, that's the crucial change (and adding DLH as manufacturer of course). Good find. Wim
il88pp
While testing/creating I had made several flightplans. As follows. First, one that started at 01.00 (gmt) tested at 13.00 (gmt) gave "Boeing A008" Then one that started at 02.00, made slightly differrently. (added EVP manuf Lufthansa, used flight number) gave: "Lufthansa eight" and so on. I changed the info in the aircraft.cfg And changed one of the previously created plans. (different time) Still no result. Last was changing aircraft.cfg atc_airline= and creating plan again from scratch. departure time moved one hour each time, so this one I made to start at 04.00 (and tested at 16.00 Gmt) Now I got "Lufthansa 007" ------------------ Today I thought: "let's create a new plan, and use Reg.No. AA006 (maybe it skips the first A, but will say the second one.) DIdn't get that far. I thought, First, let's test if the changes (in the aircraft.cfg) so far made any difference to the previously created plans. Made when the aircraft.cfg wasn'rt changed yet. Or if it just affects the plan I made last, made when the changes were there. To my surprise, the changes were affecting the first created plan as well. I went to EHAM Schiphol, at 13.00, parked next to the plane from the first plan I had created. (That plan was created with Reg.No. A008 as callsign.) Hey Presto, can't explain it, but 'thar she blows': I'll test the one at 16.00 again as well. Reset Time and Date to 1600 -- slew to correct Gate --- Radio is already tuned --- Yep, same thing: "Lufthansa Alpha Zero Zero Seven" taxi to ..... (All without having added "Alpha" using EVP. In EVP I added Lufthansa as manuf. Not "Lufthansa Alpha". The "Alpha" is simply part of the Reg.No. in AIFP.) Just followed the plane while it was taxiing out, and noticed/realised there is a possibly unwanted side effect: "Pacific 2987, Hold Position, Caution the Lufthansa 737 on the taxiway." Something I can live with.:D Weird though, why did it only say "Lufthansa 007" and now with the same, unchanged, plan "Lufthansa A007" (with alpha). Looking at the post from last night I notice: The plane said "Lufthansa A007" correctly yesterday as well. Tower did not. (see image from previous post). I was too knackered to notice. Must have been a slip of the brain from the tower controller. He was probably knackered too.;) Happy flights, il88pp [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Looking at the post from last night I notice: The plane said "Lufthansa A007" correctly yesterday as well. Tower did not. Think this can be explained by the fact that the FIRST time you contact someone (tower, ground, ATC center, ...) they use the full reg, and after that they abbreviate to the last 3 digits ? For example on 1st contact "Cessna OO-ABC", after that "Cessna ABC". In your case unfortunately, they omit the precious "Alpha" you'd been working on that long. ork51
Hi everybody I have with great interest followed the replys about my problem, and I must say, I still don´t know what to do, as Mr Zippy suggest about adding a panel folder then edit the flight number didn´t work. What I don´t understand is where that 1 comes from ? when ATC calls "Danish Airforce 1" there must be a way to get it to say fx 007 instead ? I know it maybe is caring to much about small Things, but if I have 46 Drakens flying around as AI aircraft, it is easier to see which is which, and it irritates me that I can´t figure out how to crack this nut  I even changed in the [general] atc_type= DANISH AIRFORCE atc_model=F-35 Draken (I have add DANISH AIRFORCE in FSX airliners.cfg first) still without any luck I will gladly continue to try all yours suggestions that comes to see if it help finally will help solving it. ork51
il88pp
The instruction to fix it is mostly in my post 9. I will write a longer version. To clear it up a bit already: EVP is EditVoicePack. (and I used a Lufthansa 737 -Lufthansa A007- instead of your -Danish Airforce A001- callsign.) (You are Danish nationality? I will try using short clear sentences.) il. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
il88pp
I'm still typing the full explanation. Short version: We can make it say: "Boeing A007". By selecting the tail number as callsign in AIFP. (so not using 'flight number' 007 in aifp.) Or in your case: Saab 008. You had done this yourself as well. (Boeing, and Saab, are aircraft manufacturers. Makers of aircraft.) What I did was very simple. I do this same thing. "Boeing 007" But, I first added "Lufthansa" as a Manufacturer. The Lufthansa Sound exists already (EVP) BUT NOT AS MANUFACTURER!!! ONLY AS AN AIRLINE. SO, using EVP, I created a manufacturer-sound "Lufthansa" And, in the aircraft.cfg I changed the "boeing 737 Lufthansa" (that was my [Fltsim08] section). So it now has Lufthansa as Manufaturer name. The aircraft now thinks it is not a "Boeing 737" but a "LUFTHANSA 737" And what I hear is no longer "Boeing A007" but now becomes "Lufthasa A007" So: you will need to use EVP to create a sound for a Manufacturer: Lufthansa. You will need to make a change in the aircraft.cfg file, so the manufacturer is not 'Boeing' but is now 'Lufthansa' I thought you would need to create the plan again as well. But that is not needed. ------ This was just an intro. A longer explanation. (how to do it in EVP) will follow. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ork51
Hi il88pp, Yes I am Danish, but You don´t have to cut it out in paper, I manage my English very well, :) just remember I can´t use Lufthansa call sign, to a military fighter it seems a little strange. :o ork51
il88pp
Message recieved. I'll explain using my default 737-800. I have a Lufthansa texture installed for that. (easier for me to explain.) You will have to do the same thing, but instead of Lufthansa you use Danish Airforce, instead of Boeing you replace with Saab, instead of my A007 you can use A001. il88pp
Something wnt wrong. I foud out something else was going on as well. I had to do more testing and found out part of what is going on. But I have to let it sink in and completely rethink how to best explain it. Will take some time before the explanation is ready. il88pp
If you can live with "Danish Airforc 108 it would be as simple as creaing a flightplan with that as flight number. Just create the flighplan in AIFP, select "ATC uses FN as callsign" choose number 108. THe numbers can not begin with a zero, or have letters in them. The traffic will use the Flight Number (FN) you gave it in AIFP. With that: Creating new in EVP: --> not needed at all. Editing aircraft.cfg file --> not needed. ------ Making it say A008 is gong to be really long and complex explanation. That may take several days writing a guide. ork51
Hi again, il88pp I think, I will end up just using the reg. no. as call sign, with that I can still recognize the aircrafts from each other, I can live with that, although it is not the optimal solution. I will say thanks for all your answers and suggestion to how I can solve my "problem".:) Just one other little question, You maybe can help me with, I have taken a user aircraft and use it as ai aircraft (have removed panel folder), but now there is no nav light on, because it necessary to turn lights on, by pressing the L key. So is there a way (maybe in cfg. file) to get nav light be turned on continually ?? kind regards :o ork51
il88pp
I'm still working on that earlier question. It turned out to be a lot more tricky then expected. So it's slow progress. One hour here, one hour there, then a few days of not looking at it. I hope I will eventually be able to post a full solution (complet in one post) but it may be a while yet. The lights, not sure. I checked a AI plane (woai). The lights section in the aircraft.cfg looks perfectly normal to me. Do not use thes coordinates, but this is what I saw. [lights] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0 = 1, 4.4, 0, 10.19, fx_beacon light.1 = 1, 3.63, 0, -3.45, fx_beacon light.2 = 2, -55.12, 0, 8.01, fx_strobe light.3 = 3, -21.17, -46.21, 3.55, fx_navwhi light.4 = 3, -21.17, 46.21, 3.55, fx_navwhi light.5 = 3, -17.43, -46.28, 3.76, fx_navred light.6 = 2, -16.88, -46.23, 3.76, fx_strobe light.7 = 2, -16.88, 46.22, 3.75, fx_strobe light.8 = 3, -17.43, 46.28, 3.76, fx_navgre beacon as type 1, strobe effect ads type 2, and nav light effect as type 3. As usual. (that's from the aircraft.cfg file.) Lights turn on when needed, may be that's it? Not in daylight, and some lights turn on in flight only. ork51
Okay il88pp That sounds great, it will be interesting to see, what You will have as solutions concerning call sign.:) You were right about the lights on ai aircraft, I made a flightplan in the evening and all lights were working just fine (without I have done anything in the aircrafts cfg file), turned it´s landing light on about 1,5 mile away and it also used flaps, when it came in for landing, so it´s just great. For the time being, I have 4 user(flyable) aircraft flying around as ai airplanes ( together with just about 200 ai planes mostly fs9, which Works just fine in FSX) and it don´t seem to have any influence on my frame speed on PC. Looking forward to hear from You in the future, when You have news about the call sign issue:o ork51
