yoke and joystick

I am about to acquire a Thrustmaster T16000 joystick to fly the Aerosoft A320. Currently I have a Saitek yoke with throttles and rudder pedals. I'd like to use the Saitek gear for general flying and the grandsons are learning on the Saitek setup. Do I need physically to remove all the Saitek hardware in order to install and use the Thrustmaster, or is there some way I can install them in parallel and assign each a mode in FSX that I can change depending on the aircraft?

Grateful for some guidance from older flying hands.

Robert

As long as you have enough USB ports you can leave them all plugged IN . FSX will recognize them all in the control settings. I have a joystick, yoke, pedals and two throttle quads all plugged in...plus mouse and keyboard. The more buttons you have the more you will forget what they are for.

For setups like these I'm using FSUIPC (paid version). You can set up individual profiles per airplane with what every controller is supposed to do.

Example: If I load an NGX I have the yoke controlling the surfaces and the joystick to the side works as the tiller. If I load up the Aerosoft Airbus the joystick controls the surfaces and the yoke does nothing. I have a lot of external controllers for emulating everything from single prop TPM, single or double enging jet fighter, all kinds of airliners up to 4 engine turboprops or jets with individual reversers and tiller. Without this tool I would have lost a lot of hair. So it was just the challenge to move the controller and assign a function to it, save it to the profile.
