dog4zero
I have Brett Henderson's c177rg. I would like to add a pilot to it. I have tried to contact him he has not answered. This would be for me and I have no notion of posting it. Just want to know how to add a pilot. Just doesn't look good empty. mrzippy
I'm thinking that would be part of the model and not likely to happen easily. I going to throw a "red flag" and check with the referee......Upon further review, I wonder if it can be added to the textures?? Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! dog4zero
That's what I was afraid of. P3Dv4.5, nothing but Gigs of ORBX, REX 4 TD, REX WW Airports HD, SkyForce 3D, ASP4. mrzippy
That's what I was afraid of. Yeah, I'm afraid it's not easy even though in some of my addon aircraft I can see the pilots that show in the cockpit outside views are in the texture folder, there is something in the Model that calls for it to happen. It's a nice looking aircraft, though! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
dog4zero
So there is no easy way around it. I was going to say something about the texture folder but you saw it also. Anyone else have any ideas? If not, this is closed. P3Dv4.5, nothing but Gigs of ORBX, REX 4 TD, REX WW Airports HD, SkyForce 3D, ASP4. PAULCRAIG
The pilot is definitely part of the model, so unless you can get hold of the model source files, a pilot cannot be added.

Anyone else have any ideas? If not, this is closed. No more ideas, but I did learn a lot about it! The modeler has to make a 3-D model of the pilot, place him/her in the cockpit seat and then create the "wrap-around textures" (what is seen in the texture folder) to give the pilot a face and clothes. Like I said...lots of work! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
dog4zero
Than I will have a ghost for a pilot. P3Dv4.5, nothing but Gigs of ORBX, REX 4 TD, REX WW Airports HD, SkyForce 3D, ASP4. ScatterbrainKid
With downloaded planes that have pilots, you could try looking in the Readme's for the modeller's email addresses and drop them a mail asking for tips etc, I know from past experience that you might even get an answer from one or two..:)
dog4zero
I will do that. I also did more research on this airplane and found that it was sold to someone in Canada. Then in Jan 2010 it crashed on a test hop. Just a few bumps and scratches with the 2 on board, but the plane was totaled. It was registered in Canada as C-GRJJ. Thanks for the tip Scatterbrainkid.
