AndreasRh
Hey guys. 2 days ago I bought the Orbx Global, vectors and OpenLC Europe for FSX and im sitting left with mixed feelings about this, its a clear upgrade from the default textures but it seems blurry and flat, trees and houses arent showing and the entire ground seems slow to load and becomes blurry. My hardware is: i5-2500K overclocked @ 4.3GHz RAM 16GB Nvidia GeForce GTX560 Ti Pictures: http://i66.tinypic.com/ng33w8.jpg Worst scenario: http://i67.tinypic.com/sfea0y.jpg Best scenario: http://i64.tinypic.com/11m9kdf.jpg Hope anyone can help me out, thanks in advance (y)
lnuss
It sounds as if you may have some of the sliders too far to the right or fps locked at too high a value (try 22). Or perhaps you're in a big city area, where autogen density is very high. Or maybe you have traffic set too high. Perhaps it would help to use a more simple aircraft (that is, default), one that isn't so demanding on the system. In other words, it sounds as if there is more demand on the system than it can handle, so you need to do something to reduce the demand for resources. Larry N. AndreasRh
I've tried both setting fps to unlimmited and 30. My traffic is really at 15% so I doubt that would be the deal. I've set my sliders according to the Orbx users manual, even tried to lower them a bit without succes

Other than me having a slightly faster CPU and slightly better GPU our equipment seems pretty similar. What kind of plane are you flying? Does it have PMDG or other fancy things? I almost always fly either default planes or basic freeware at 30fps. I found a long time ago I can have great planes or great scenery, but seldom was I happy trying to use both at the same time. I'd advise you take Inuss's advice and see what your scenery looks like with default aircraft. Then look into the choices you want to make. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. AndreasRh
Yeah im not really complaining about those 2 scenarios but they're not really consistent all the time, those 2 pictures was taken on the NGX on approach to gatwick so its not too bad I guess. The thing is when im flying a default plane it doesnt improve, its exactly the same as when im flying the NGX, airbus X or pmdg t7. My performance overall fps wise is pretty good but again the ground texture seems "bad" compared to what I see at other people who have similar hardware
Double J
Time to tweak tweak and tweak some more. See Kostas guide pinned to the top of this forum. Read the whole thing then read it again then again and again, his advice would do wonders for your hardware. https://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ I use nothing but Orbx...FTX Global, FTX regions FTX trees. I don't use Vectors or 3rd part mesh. I refuse to buy anything made by Pilots...even if it is for Orbx.
AndreasRh
Thanks J, I am using kostas tweeks and have done so for as long as I remember. Along with a couple of tweeks from people like Matt davies etc
