StringBean
NDBs do not have DME. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. lnuss
ADF and DME don't work together. For DME you need a VORTAC or a VOR/DME. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science!
gdr1944
How do I follow the instruction? Army Engineer Veteran..Busted for insubordination Nam-1966
mqytn
Fly south-southeast until the ADF needle activates. To pick baku means that the ADF needle becomes active and it will point to the NDB. That's all. As the two flightsim vets below says, you will not get a DME reading off a NDB. You then will fly a heading that will make the ADF needle point straight ahead to the NDB. RCChopper
Ok..had a little problem locating the ADF gauge. Got it now thanks One caveat to remember with the ADF gauge is some panels have it combined with the VOR 2. In the lower corners (left or right) of the gauge are selector switches that select what each needle (one or both) is to be used for. It's easy to forget this and wonder why the gauge isn't picking up what you expect it to.
