Black Scenery Elements

Just recently a few of the default buildings, trees and grass have turned black (see attached JPG). I see this at multiple airports. I'm not sure what happened and was wondering if someone else had run into this problem. Any suggestions?

That is not a default Lake Tahoe in the pic. There is no such thing as "default grass" and default airports do not have those taxi lights.

So you have a problem with addons, not default scenery.

What addons are you using?

This can be caused by conflicting library bgls in addon scenery. If you have more than one scenery package (probably from the same developer), switch them all off and reactivate them one by one, always checking the buildings. You should see the buildings when you activate the first scenery that has the conflicting library and they will turn black when you activate the second one. You then either change the layers in the scenery library, or merge the sceneries together into the same folders (if there are duplicate files, keep the larger one)

AFAIK the reason is that FSX manages (object) library bgl by name. So if there are different versions of the same library in multiple sceneries, only the first one found gets loaded. And if it doesn't contain all that the second scenery needs, the objects will be black. Had this happen to me a couple of times with freeware airports.

I finally found what was causing the problem. There some files that were in earlier versions of the ORBX Library that were not in the current version. Luckily I had a backup copy of the library that was about a year old. After restoring those missing files things were back to normal. Thanks for your help.
