Default a321 panel.... autobrake unavailable.

Recommended Posts

Hello again folks.

On a flight tonight using the A321 default panel on an ifdg A320 Airbus (euroharmony va).

I found on approach ,with flaps full, gear down, auto brakes( lo med high )were not selectable.

Is it something i missed on operation method ,or is the auto brake function not modelled, or is it a fault that needs correcting?

My recent experience with the default 737 showed that particular aircraft had a number of faults (now corrected thanks to Mr Zippy and his links), so iam hoping for a simple fix or solution to this default A321 panel as well.

Cheers Andy

I think it got overlooked during development, there are some files you can download and install so that you can use the autobrake feature using a popup panel.- however to make them work correctly you will have to tweak 1 of the config files - as they are set to allow 4 options but on the stock a321 you only have 3 options.

Autobrake function is not coded in the default A321 gauge and switches bitmap are missing.

I uploaded for you a fixed autobrake gauge, realized by Stephan Liebe.

Download here : http://freenavdbgroup.com/Temp/temp/Autobrake_A321.zip

Go in your A321 panel folder.

Unzip Airbus_A321.cab file. You can delete the Cab file after because panel is now uncompressed.

Unzip my Autobrake_A321.zip file and copy the 7 files in your "Airbus_A321\Panel\Airbus_A321\" directory

Answer yes to overwrite popup_gear.xml file.

Now, your autobrake works.

During take off, you can select only the "Max" position, because this is the RTO (Reject Take Off" function). If you turn off your throttles during take off, the gauge engages brakes automatically to stop aircraft quickly if your aircrraft goes up to 80 kts.

All other positions (Low, Med and High off course) can be selected when you fly, before landing.

Good flight.
