cavalierjan19
Hi, Get an Intel CPU, AMD CPUs aren't that good for gaming and flightsims. For slightly more money, get an i5-4690K. You are going to have to change the mobo-in this case go for MSi Z97 Gaming 3, or Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 3. The i5 needes a good cooler, for example: Raijintek Tsisis, Raijintek Nemesis, BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, Noctua Nh-D14, or even a watercooling kit (if on higher budget). get 16Gbs of RAM (that's still going to be slightly overkill). Go for an SSD (I'm not gonna help you choose one, since this dependes on your budget). The GPU is fine, but FSX is generally happier when working with a Nvidia GPU (in this case GTX970 is good choice). You don't need three fans, but getting them isn't bad choice. You'll need a bigger case, for example Fractal design Define R5 or R4, Phanteks Enthoo Pro, Corsair 400R. The rest is good choice, the PSU might be slightly overkill, but I guess it's no problem to have one with slightly more power. Hope this helps, Jan My Blog:http://thebadpilotsblog.blogspot.com/ My PC: i7-3970X up to 4.0GHz, Gigabyte GTX970 OC, Asus X79 Rampage IV Extreme, Kingston HyperX Beast XMP 16GB, Samsung 850 PRO 256GB SSD, Western Digital Black 2TB, Noctua NH-D15, Thermaltake SE Smart 630W, Cooler Master CM690 III, Windows 10. I should probably let you know that the above is a package that is already on a pre built system for $1000 AUD. I am not able to build my own so that is unfortunately out of the equation. So with that new information, would I still get pretty optimal results with the pre built package? If not, what would you suggest I do as cannot build my own. Thanks!! Okay you have convinced me I'll get that stuff sorted. Just 1 more final question. Will 3.5GHZ be enough?
cavalierjan19
Hi, the case is sightly different. When needed, the CPU can turbo boost up to 3,9GHz (not all cores), so it's actually a bit faster. ther than that, the CPU can be overcklocked to 4,4-4,5GHz (or slightly more). you can find overclocking tutorials in the internet.
