HoratioWondersocks
I have had to resort to L and then turning off anything not needed. This is the llast thing I expected to hold me up in my maiden 737 800 flight. Andy exasperated! Plus Landing lights are on ,when in the off position. Any ideas please

Any ideas please OK, The light switches are bass-ackwards in the default 737-800 cockpit. There is a download in the file llibrary that will take care of that. I don't think there is a Nav light switch on the upper panel, but the Nav light comes on when one of the switches is pushed. There is also a download at FSND (just type FSX FSND into Google Search) that will give you a nice upgrade to the default 737 VC. For the previous light switch fix I think you can search 737-800 light fix in the file library. I know your next question will be why won't the taxi light come on unless the landing light is on. There is a fix for this in the AVSIM Library. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

Rather busy trying to fly this aircraft (with faults) at the moment. Capt Agggh!

OK Thanks Zip. I didn't realise. There is a fix as you say, but it repairs a load of other things as well. Apart from all this the X default panels a rather nice. Cheers once more. A. If everything went according to designer's plans, they wouldn't need us to fly planes, drive cars, or even conceive children! Actually, that possible future is what really concerns me! We are raising entire generations of pilots, drivers, etc., who don't even consider machine failure an option!! I hope you understand my point! Today many people don't even realize they have to be accountable to what happens to them and others in their lives! Self landing planes, self driving cars, parents who live their children's life for them so they won't ever face a risk??!!! Thanks very much, I'm thrilled I'm old enough that when I go out most of these things are still being done and accounted for by people!! Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. kingnorris
Which is why addons and third party aircraft are so popular. The defaults leave much to be desired. I also messing about with that GPS upgrade package as well. So lots of tinkering at the moment. Cheers Andy
theyorks
I tried the B737-800 panel update from FSND in FSX-SE, and even after directing the auto installer to the correct path and getting the message that the panel had installed correctly, the B737 "failed to initialise" on selection. Fortunately, I had backed up the original, so no harm done. I had no joy searching for B738gaufix.zip. It said no files found. I tried a few other searches and still came up blank. Sent from my tablet thingy! Hello Do the search using 737 light fix. The relevant file is the second in the search list. I have used it and it works. I haven't yet tried the VC update ,but in light of your experience I will back up the original first before trying. Cheers Andy
