gdr1944
Well I don't know what to say. If I remember there was a FS9.exe 2002.exe, 2000.exe and a kiosk.exe. All gone Army Engineer Veteran..Busted for insubordination Nam-1966
mgh
Then you've done something wrong - not the SDK.
StringBean
Are you saying the FSX SDK removed those files from FS9? Or from FSX? If they are gone from FSX, then no problem. The only reason they are there (they are dummies) is to fool installers that require their presence. The kiosk.exe runs FSX in kiosk mode, something I doubt you would ever need. If these files are missing from FS9 yoiu can get them off of your install discs for FS9. If you have FS9 install discs you can extract them and put them in the FSX folder if you wish. As Gerry said, the SDK installer did not do this or it would have done it to all of us. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. gdr1944
Look! before installing SDK Accel as instructed all FSX exe were in the FSX folder. After completing FSX SDK Accel as instructed ALL FSX.exe, FS9.exe 2002.exe, 2000.exe and a kiosk.exe. were deleted. I followed the sdk instructions exactly as posted. Posted work around helped with CD and CD drive trouble and took some time to install final SDK Accel. Luckily a add remove repair from CD fixed all without any further damage.(I hope) Looks like all addon scenery and aircraft unaffected. OH..an finely SDK Accel installed correctly for the first time. il88pp
mgh, This is the thread where he asked how to install: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?294725-SDK-and-BGL-Compiler-SDK After getting the advice he said: Hello: I hope this is my last post. Would everyone recommend that I un-install what ever SDK I have and start over? I believe I have enough info to properly install in order all SDK's I wasn't aware of the CD problem so with that in mind and copying SDK Accel Sp1 to a temp folder. Thank you for your patience and understanding. GDR1944 The next message was him saying he had done all this and go it installed. I think when he: Would everyone recommend that I un-install what ever SDK I have and start over? I think he actally uninstalled everything FS by mistake, Instead of uninstalling everything SDK like he wanted. This was not recommended by any one of course. Not sure if that's what he did, but thought you should know. The advice he got about installing the SDK was spot-on. Nothing wrong with that. mgh
There nothing wrong with the way he should have installed the SDK. The fact that he's lost various files show that he didn't follow the advice he was given.
