JaxSim
Hello everyone I have a FSX and I am considering to buy the PMDG 737NGX for it. But before I buy the add-on, I want to know if these are OK to run this plane at 25-30FPS. CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3GHZ (the CPU is not overclocked, but it's possible) GPU: AMD HD 7700 1GB RAM: 8GB Windows 10 is installed on a 256GB SSD and i have a 500GB HDD for FSX. I think I should buy a new GPU, but will the CPU runs the PMDG NGX well? Thanks in advance.
MBKHOU
You might get that much up in the air, but kind of doubt it on the ground. A lot depends on the scenery and settings. That puter would be fairly close to the last AMD box I ran, and I only got 12-14 fps on the ground. The CPU is what really matters for the NGX. I wouldn't bother with a new GPU. I'd start thinking about a new MB/CPU if you really want it to run good.
ganuv
if you want the image smooth and high resolution ,it maybe not enough.

Your GPU is probably fine, for FSX at least. Having said that, most newer games use the GPU a lot more. If you're going to all the trouble of changing MBs & CPUs, you might want to also consider a better GPU so you'll have more options later. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. MBKHOU
The GPU means much less for the NGX than the CPU. Heck, I'm still using the cheap onboard graphics on my 4790 box. And it runs pretty danged well considering I run the NGX over Global and Vector at max scenery/autogen settings. And my 4790 is not OCed. I'll get a better video card eventually, but I'm really taking my time about it trying to get the best bang for the buck. Also waiting for the right sale to come along.. ;) What the better video will add is the ability to use high AA settings, etc and not bog down. Or if running multi displays at high res. etc.. But with a good Haswell i5 or i7, even the onboard HD 4600 video will run fairly well for starters.
JaxSim
Thanks for the answers. I think I should build a new PC that with a better CPU like the i7 6700k or the i5 6600k. One last question: Is 8GB RAM enough for flight simming with add-on or do I need 16GB?
MBKHOU
8GB is enough for FSX. That's what I'm using right now.. But if I had to do it over again six months later, I'd go for 16 gb. RAM prices have dropped some since spring. The extra RAM can help with other stuff.. And it gives you enough to where you could run FSX off a RAM drive if you wanted. But 8 gb will work if on a budget.. If you have Win 10, I assume your OS is 64 bit, which is good.
