Megaflights
Hi all.I recently purchased FSX on Steam. I've had it on CD for a while, but thought if I grabbed it on Steam it would have just made life easier. Since I've had quite some time playing with default aircraft, doing long hauls and short ones included, I wanted to take my experience a little further as I delve into it. So, what mods, would make my experience more lifelike? I'm not really into flying in America or Europe, more in Asia. I wanted to know what scenery, graphic and airplanes would make my game look and feel uber realistic?
PhantomTweak
Whatever you were using for your CD (or "box") version of FSX that you like will probably work in Steam also. The big difference in the two as far as add-on's go is where Steam hides it's version of FSX. Steam tends to bury it's version of FSX deeper in it's directory structure than MS did. IE:MS FSX you install in, let us say D:\, so you get D:\FSX for it's main directory. Steam it's more like D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX. As long as you can point autoinstallers (which is distrust deeply) for add-ons to the proper folder(s), then most add-ons work exactly the same. NOW: If you are looking for advice on specific add-ons, then others will need to answer that. Add-ons and how they look are very subjective in nature. What Joe Schmuckatelli likes, I might think looks cartoony. And the converse may well be true. It's entirely your preference. Not overly helpful, but it's what I've got, sorry... Pat☺ Joe Smuckatelli! I think I remember him! Wasn't he a major in either MAG-16 or MAG-36? Little guy, black hair, could lick his nose with his tongue, always had a hot date. Wasn't that Joe? Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

MAG-36, as I recall :D :D :D Not only were his dates hot, they all had big smiles for some reason!! :p Always great stuff, Rupert! Thanx for the laugh  For those not from the military, "Joe Schmuckatelli" was a generic, "everyman" name we used to throw around. Like Joe Blow, or John Doe. Megaflights
What I meant to ask was what addons could I get to enhance realism, such as scenery mods, the most popular ones maybe. Could anyone point me to decent mods to have?
il88pp
Have a look in the screenshot forum on flightsim for some impressions. Many beautiful shots of scenery in there. Be aware some shots may be from FS2004 (fs9). And you may have to ask in some threads what scenery is on display as it's not always mentioned.
