Project Opensky aircraft model question

ital

Recommended Posts

Unless this is a trick question ..... or I don't quite understand the question ..... the texture should be able to be applied to any Opensky 747-200 complete aircraft that you find.

When in doubt I first check filenames, if they are not identical the textures will not work; otherwise I just install the textures and look at the aircraft in the game, if they do not fit you will know immediately and no damage done other than a few minutes time. You can also inspect the files in a viewer and compare to those on your aircraft.

As it is using JT9D engine textures then it will require the 742 PW JT9D model.

Where can I find that model then? I'm confused. Will the Aerolineas Argentinas model work on it? I have several Posky's 742 but none worked with those textures. I copy pasted a fltsim with the next available number + other lines that needed to be edited. I think the author forgot to add the fltsim section along with the textures.

EDIT : wait what about this? via screenshot's description. 742.jpg

No the Aerolineas Argentinas model will not work as it uses GE engines & the Pan Am textures you have are for the Project Opensky 747-200 version 3 & there is a newer version 4 model available, the complete package including Pan Am textures can be downloaded from the posky archive website here http://poskyarchive.com/boeing/b747-200/b747-200-liveries/ you will need to scroll down the page to find it.

Oh I see. I thought it was only the one showed on the thumbnail. I tried it and yes it is an old livery but not exactly the one I'm trying to have. So I tried with the model including it but it never appeared in the menu.

I copy pasted the fltsim.2 but changed 2 with 3 and the texture line with panam then added a folder called texture.panam with its textures inside.

As I said before, the textures you have are for the V3 model, so you will either have to find a V3 model, find the Pan Am textures that are the same as you have for the V4 model or ask someone to paint it for you for the V4 model, also I have done a bit of research & it seems that the textures you have represent what looks like a Pan Am 747-100 & not a -200, I have searched for Pan Am textures for the Posky 747-100 V4 similar to the ones you already have for the -200 V3 but without success.

lol I got it. It occurred to me to do a research too. So I went to the files and typed "747-200 v3" then tried this file hl742ba.zip then I repeated the same steps on adding new textures and there it was. I tried the plane and everything seems fine.

Big thanks to you and mrzippy, believe it or not but I've been trying to find the base model of those textures since 2011 lol. Now to find the AI version.
