About This File

FSFW95 DeHavilland Drover DHA-3 Mk III v2 of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, registration VH-FDR. This aircraft has become part of the bush folklore of Australia. It was developed postwar to provide a tough, reliable replacement for the deHavilland Dragon. The first test flights took place in 1948 and the Mark I's were soon in service. The three engine configuration was chosen to provide safe operation with one engine failures, vitally important in the remote areas where these planes were to operate. Includes AFX files.
