Lockheed Super Electra-Eastern Airlines

   (0 reviews)

About This File

The Lockheed Company in the mid-1930's produced a series of twin-engined, twin-tailed aircraft. First was the L-10 Electra, next the L-14 Super Electra and last the L-18 Lodestar. This model is the L-14 in Eastern Airlines colors of 1935. The Lockheed "twins" lost ground when the Douglas DC-2 and DC-3 entered service. A recent movie "The Phantom" featured a restored L-18 Lodestar! The state of Florida still uses a Lodestar as a agriculture spray-plane.
