About This File

This model is of the Japanese Navy's Mitsubishi F1M2 Type Zero Observation Seaplane Model11.
It was named "Type Zero Observation Seaplane" because it was officially adopted in the 2600th anniversary of the founding of Japan (1940).
Therefore, it was nicknamed "Zerokan" and called "Pete" by the Allied forces.
The F1M2 was planned in 1935 for the purpose of observing the gunfire of battleships.
And it also needed to have the ability to eliminate enemy fire.
It was an aircraft that deliberately chose an outdated biplane to fly high in a short time and to obtain maneuverability, and pursued its advantages to the utmost.
Therefore, it was also called "the last biplane".
It demonstrated high maneuverability and was used for air defense of fleets and bases, shooting down many American aircraft.
This model was built in Blender and then finished for FSX using FSDS3.5.1.
It has not been tested to see if it works with anything other than FSX ACCELERATION.
FSDS3.5.1 model by UENOSHING.

This is one of the finest aircraft I have ever flow in FSX. The level of detail to both the aircraft and its handling is remarkable.

Once again, uenishing has given us payware quality in an aircraft that is both historical and a joy to fly.

Although these screenshots may never have occurred in real life, they bring back memories of my time spent flying in Japan.

These show the Zerokan/Pete:

1. On the water near the "floating" torii of the Itsukushima Shrine at Miajima Island

Brilliant freeware historical aircraft. Looks great and flies well from land or water. Thanks so much to the developer. My new favourite plane to fly in FSX, especially around the Chi-Chi Jima 1945 scenery (also available from Flightsim.com).
