FS2004/FSX Sierra Pacific Convair CV-580. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. The CV-580 made its airline debut with Frontier Airlines in July 1964. It was a Pacific Airmotive conversion of the CV340 or CV440 with very powerful Allison 501 turboprop engines as used in the Lockheed L.188 Electra. Maximum weight increased to 54,600lbs and airline conversions typically had high density seating for 58 passengers. Sierra Pacific in this era flew from California cities to Mammoth Mountain and other resorts. A complete aircraft, includes model, panel and sounds.
