About This File
FS2004 Swiss Air Lines Douglas DC-4. A repaint for the JBK DC-4 / C-54B v3. In 1947 Swiss Air Lines started the transatlantic service with then new DC-4s from Zurich via Shannon, Gander to New York. In 1997 the public relations departement of Swissair re-enacted that first flight. The aircraft used was the South African ZU-ILI in historic Swiss guise. Big event and lots of fun. Sadly a few years later Swissair collapsed soon after 9/11. Their remains survived as Swiss in the Lufthansa empire. by Hans Wuhrmann.
