The freeware CalClassic DC-7 model by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. This repaint depicts ONA DC-7 N321A, in 1960 colors. It was purchased in 1958 from American Airlines, which probably influenced this choice in livery for this aircraft. It eventually left the fleet in 1963. FS2004/FSX/P3D Airlift International Douglas DC-7C(F) circa mid 1960s. This is a repaint of the Airlift International DC-7C(F) in mid 1960s colors. The freeware CalClassic DC-7C by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. Airlift acquired quite a few DC-7CFs from Riddle Airlines after the name change. This aircraft, N8218H, was purchased in 1960 by Riddle Airlines from Swissair, and then joined Airlift in 1963. Textures are 32bit BMP. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. FS2004/FSX/P3D Airlift International Curtiss C-46 1965
FS2004/FSX/P3D Airlift International Curtiss C-46 1965. This is a repaint of the C-46 in Airlift International 1965 colors. The freeware C46 by Libardo Guzman and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. My previous uploads were the of Riddle Airline's fleet. This is a continuation of that airline's affairs. Riddle Airlines faced financial difficulties and in June 1962 all services were suspended. This crisis led to a reorganization of the airline in July 1962, under an entirely new management team. Subsequently, the airline was renamed Airlift International on November 29, 1963, and the corporate takeover took effect in March 1964. Airlift, got off on the right foot as they received 31 of Riddle's aircraft. They started international operations to Rome and Milan with their solo DC-8F aircraft, with another DC-8F joining the fleet in June 1964. By 1965 Airlift was on cloud nine as they earned and a net profit of $1,744,907. In 1966 they were able to take over Slick Airways, itself a big cargo carrier. In fact, it was previously the largest all-cargo airline in the USA, in 1951. Also, in 1966 they recorded a net profit of $3 million dollars. Airlift went from strength to strength, posting profits, and enhancing the quality of their fleet. In 1967 they received L-100 Hercules, 727-172Cs, and 707-365Cs. In 1970 however, they had a downturn due to the U.S. recession, and cutbacks in Vietnam airlift operations. For Airlift the 1970s did not allow them to reach the heights of the 1960s. They battled on, but financial problems plagued them that by 1981 Airlift had no physical assets and only $44,000 in cash on hand. They almost collapsed that year, but with restructuring, and a few ups and downs, they survived until 1993, when they eventually ceased operations. This repaint is of an Airlift C-46 (N75388) which was with the airline from 1956 to 1966.Airlift International had a lot of C-46s in their fleet over the years, 48 in total. N75388 was with Airlift from 1963 to 1966. Before that it was with Riddle Airlines from 1956 to 1963. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. Textures are 32bit bmp. FS2004/FSX/P3D Riddle Airlines DC-7CF 1961. This is a repaint of the Riddle Airlines Douglas DC-7CF. The freeware CalClassic DC-7F by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. In comparison with the DC-6 of which only 3 were operated by the airline, Riddle Airlines (and Airlift) had a love affair with the DC-7. In fact, the Riddle/Airlift group utilized a total of 28 DC-7s from 1960 to 1970. Interestingly, on March 15 1961, a DC-7CF completed a record 6,307 mile nonstop commercial flight from Tokyo to Chicago in 20 hrs. 30 min. This repaint is of N296, which was with Riddle from 1961 to 1963. Textures are 32 bit BMP. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FS2004, FSX & P3D v1-3, and FS2004. In fact only three DC-6s were listed in their fleet from 1956 to 1957. This repaint is of N7780B. Textures are 32 bit BMP. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FS2004, P3Dv1-3, & FSX. FS2004/FSX/P3D Riddle Airlines C-46 1959
FS2004/FSX/P3D Riddle Airlines C-46 1959. This is a repaint of the Curtiss C46 in Riddle Airlines 1959 colors. The freeware C-46 by Libardo Guzman and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. Riddle Airlines was a a non scheduled carrier, which mainly focused on cargo flights, but passenger flights were also offered. It was founded in 1945 by John P. Riddle, who flew contract flights between Miami and Brazil during WW2. The airline was based at Miami. In late summer 1945, passenger and freight services were inaugurated between New York City and Puerto Rico. It expanded its network to all of the Americas and the Caribbean in the following years. Due to financial difficulties faced by most cargo carriers in the 1950s, Riddle also accepted both civilian and military contracts and strengthened its fleet whenever possible. However, Riddle continued to face deep financial troubles, and in June 1962 all services were suspended. This crisis led to a reorganization of the airline in July 1962 under an entirely new management team, and the airline was back in the air thereafter. On November 29 of that year, Riddle was renamed Airlift International. This Riddle C-46, N74178, flew with the airline from 1960 to 1963. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. Textures are 32bit bmp. FS2004/FSX/P3D APSA C-46 1966
FS2004/FSX/P3D APSA C-46 1966. This is a repaint of the C-46 in Aerolineas Peruanas - APSA, 1966 colors. The freeware C-46 by Libardo Guzman and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. American C.W. Shelton, the owner of the Honduran carrier TAN, in association with two Peruvian nationals, founded Aerolineas Peruanas SA (APSA) in September 1956. Consequently, APSA began a C-46 international service from Lima (Peru) to Santiago de Chile via Autofagasta on June 17, 1957. By 1960, the company expanded its operations to Mexico City, and Panama City. Also in 1960 the CAB of the USA granted the rights to APSA to fly to Miami. However, before the rights were granted, the CAB forced C.W. Shelton to transfers his interest in APSA to Peruvian owners, as APSA was under "foreign interests" (ie. Shelton). Thus after this ruling, Shelton's airline changed hands and became a 77% owned Peruvian airline. The company entered the jet age with the delivery of its first convair 990 Coronado, which was leased, on 23 December 1963. South American expansion was undertaken in 1964 as services were launched to La Paz, Montevideo, and Asuncion. Eventually, Lima to London via Madrid and Paris flights were inaugurated during the spring of 1969 with a DC-8-52 leased from Iberia. Tragically, due to the high costs of its aircraft leases, the carrier encountered severe financial difficulties in 1970. Aditionally, the government, led by Juan Velasco Alvarado, refused to bail out APSA. Alvarado had plans to establish a state owned airline - AEROPERU, and APSA was standing in his way. Unable to overcome its massive $22-million debt, APSA ceased operations on May 3, 1971. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. Textures are 32bit bmp. It should work on FSX, P3D v1-3 and FS2004. FS2004/FSX 1959 and 1960 Ecuatoriana Douglas DC-6. CN/36326 was delivered in 1946 as the XC-112 to the U.S. Air Force. It was converted to a DC-6 in 1955 by Conner Air Lines. It leased to Ecuatoriana for 1959 to 1960 and re-registered as HC-ADJ. CN/42887 was delivered in 1946 as "Flagship West Virginia" to American Airlines. It was sold on 5/10/60 to Ecuatoriana and re-registered as HC-ADU. It was sold in 6/64 to TAN airlines and was destroyed on the runway in Tegucigalpa by fire on June 30, 1966. Textures only.
