FS2004 Scenery--1962 Amon Carter Forth Worth Airport
FS2004 Scenery--1962 Amon Carter Forth Worth Airport FS2004 Scenery--1962 Amon Carter Forth Worth Airport, TX, USA. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. Scenery for Amon Carter Airport at Fort Worth, Texas, in 1962. This scenery provides new FSDS terminals, taxiways, buildings and details as they were around 1962 for Fort Worth's airport at the time, Greater Ft. Worth Intl. Airport, informally known as Amon Carter Field (renamed Greater Southwest Intl. in 1962). It was later torn down in a continuing feud with Dallas (and their Love Field) after both cities constructed Dallas/Ft. Worth Intl. (DFW) just across the street from Amon Carter Field. This was in response to the FAA stating they would not put another cent into DAL or ACF, as it made no sense to have two major airports so close to each other. FS2004 RAF Upper Heyford EGUA 1955-1962
By avpingel
FS2004 RAF Upper Heyford EGUA 1955-1962 EGUA RAF Upper Heyford The airfield was originally built in 1918 by the Royal Air Force on land owned by New College Oxford, closed briefly after the end of the First World War and then re-opened in the 1920s. During the Second World War it was used by units of RAF Bomber Command but these were training rather than operational forces, even if aircraft of the 16th OTU (Operational Training Unit) may sometimes have taken part in bombing operations against the Third Reich. New runways were laid in 1942. During the Cold War Upper Heyford was chosen as one of the airfields used to operate bomber aircraft belonging to the US Strategic Air Command, and in 1950 the main runway was extended while new hardstandings were constructed for the bombers concerned. However, units were not stationed there permanently, but did Temporary Duty Assignments from their bases in the US. They included the 93rd Bomb Wing, 97th Air Refueling Squadron, 509th Air Refueling Squadron, 301st Bomb Wing, 8th Air Sea rescue Squadron, 2nd Bomb Wing, 5th Bomb Wing Detachment, and the 22nd Bomb Wing. Aircraft included the B-50 Superfortress, (briefly) the B-36 Peacemaker, the B-47 and from 1960 the B-52. There were further significant developments after 1962 which fall outside the remit of this scenery, Upper Heyford being finally returned to the British Ministry of Defence in 1994 after the end of the Cold War. FS2004 Scenery--Fort St John CYXJ in BC Canada
FS2004 Scenery--Fort St John CYXJ in BC Canada Fort St John is close to the border between British Columbia and Alberta, around 40 miles north-northwest of Dawson Creek. The airport was originally a Royal Canadian Air Force base. It is currently named "North Peace regonal Airport", or "North Peace Airport"; apparently there has been no final decision? The date for this scenery is around 2006. I was given an old video tape cassette which was filmed on an uncertain date, but which had to be before the terminal building was renovated in 2007. The only way to view the video was to play it in the camera and watch it on a small screen. After I had completed everything except the buildings I started to view the video to establish the building appearances and within an hour or so the camera died. It was so old there was no way to repair it. I made some new buildings from memory of the video and what was available online. I also used some that I had already made for other scenery but which were similar. I may replace the terminal building this version with a build of the new one, as I know this one is not a very accurate reproduction. The replacement, if I do it, will be towards the end of this year. The AI included here is for GA, Air Canada Jazz, and two helicopter companies that were (and still are?) based there. One is at the western end of the apron and the other is at the eastern end but separated from the apron. To gain access to the taxiways and runways the eastern end helicopters just taxi across the grass. The helicopters are used for maintenance trips to the oil and gas fields in the surrounding area. My screenshots show Westjet at the terminal; this is because I have Canada-wide current AI installed, while the AI included here is only for the time around 2000 to 2010, when Westjet were not flying to Fort St John. The airport is square in plan, with the apron running along the northern side and two runways forming diagonals. The two runways are 11-29 (6,882 feet long and 200 feet wide, with ILS at the 29 enand PAPI at the other) and 02-20 (6,684 feet long and 200 feet wide, and with PAPI at each end). The eastern side taxiway that runs north-south is not used. The western side taxiway is in use but only as a race track for cars. Please email me if you find faults, such as a plane without textures. I cannot test scenery before I post it without making changes to my FS9 setup, which is potentially risky. Note my newish email address at the end of these notes. By Roger Wensley.

FS2004 RAF Burtonwood 1955-57
By avpingel
FS2004 RAF Burtonwood 1955-57 Burtonwood was for some years the most important air base in the United Kingdom, at least in terms of its size and the amount of traffic which passed through it. Built for the RAF but taken over by the USAAF during the war, it played a major role in that war and then in the US commitment to the protection of Europe during the Cold War. The main east-west runway was extended to 9,000 feet while the others fell out of use, and a new control tower and terminal building opened in 1955. Then disaster struck, when the site began to suffer from mining subsidence. MATS left for Mildenhall in 1958 and by the following year the USAF had gone completely, although Burtonwood continued in use by the US Army until the early 1990s. This scenery recreates it in its heyday and comes complete with ai traffic plans which ensure that users will see many of the aircraft which visited it. FS2004 Scenery--Faroe Islands (Fantasy)
FS2004 Scenery--Faroe Islands (fantasy). In the triangle of Iceland, Scotland and Norway there is a small archipelago discovered by the Vikings. The people there now live mainly from sheep farming and fishing. In recent years, the Faroe Islands have also been discovered by tourism. A car ferry connects Iceland and Denmark with the main island. I invented airports here for the larger islands. A visit with a Prop or Dash 8-100 type or a scenic flight shows the beauty of the islands. Vargar Airport has been expanded. FS2004+FScene X from Justflight + Traffic 2005 suitable freeware. FS2004 Scenery--Bunker Hill AFB Fix
By avpingel
FS2004 Scenery--Bunker Hill AFB Fix. The original Bunker Hill AFB scenery did not include necessary changes for John Young's B-58 Hustler you were instructed to download in the installation instructions. Without this update the B-58s will not appear in the 1962 traffic version. Download this fix and copy in the Model and Aircraft, gfg files to your installed B-58 aircraft folder. These changes just affect a few parking_codes and the models parking radius. By Al Von Pingel.111 downloads

FS2004 Scenery--Altenburg Nobitz EDAC Fantasy
FS2004 Scenery--Altenburg Nobitz EDAC Fantasy. This former NVA military airport was named after the reunification of GDR and FR Germany into one expanded regional airport. Low-cost airlines headed for this, to transport passengers for Leipzig and Dresden cheaply. This airlines stopped coming one day. Now the brand new ones are going to expire terminals and only small aircraft use the airport. There is a very interesting aircraft museum nearby. Have here so we will have a resurrected regional airport. By BlackBaron.43 downloads

FS2004 Scenery--Ehemaliger Junkersflughafen Bernburg Fantasy
FS2004 Scenery--Ehemaliger Junkersflughafen Bernburg Fantasy. A Junkers factory stood at this airport until the end of the war. The legendary Junkers JU 88 and its successors and other Junkers aircraft were built here (see also Dessau Airport). I reawakened this now closed airport and let's say I built a Boeing plant in Europe there with a regional airport. Interesting: cross arrangement of the runways. By BlackBaron.53 downloads

FS2004 Scenery--Hazyview Airport, South Africa
FS2004 Scenery--Hazyview Airport, South Africa. Hazyview is one of the gateway towns to the Kruger National Park and is located just to the West of Phabeni Gate, one of the main gates to use if you are travelling to Skukuza. The airfield in Hazyview is also called Numbi Airfield due to the location of the Numbi Hotel right next to the airfield. Hazyview airfield is not included in the default scenery of FS2004. With this package, it has been faithfully produced in Gmax with photoreal textures on all the buildings and a photoreal ground as well. Even the Lowveld mall to the North of the airfield and right on the approach to Rwy 19 as well as the Building supplies store to the south and on approach to Rwy 01 is inlcuded with custom models and textures. Likewise, the buildings to the West of the runway (right at the edge of the runway) and the brickyard at the Northern end is modeled with custom models and textures. The two large cellphone antennas are also present in the airport scenery and custom made. In real life, the runway is quite sloped and this was also recreated in the scenery under the limitations FS2004 presents with regards to non-flat airports. The grass runway is aligned 01/19 and only 820m long. Take-off is on Rwy 01, with landings on Rwy 19. By Kobus van Wyk.119 downloads
