FS2004 Southwest USA 1959 Airports Scenery
By Tom Gibson
FS2004 Southwest USA 1959 Airports Scenery. This scenery was created to provide taxiways, buildings and details as they were around 1959 for airline-served airports in the Southwestern US (except for Las Vegas and California, which have already been released). Several new GMAX terminals have been created, with many other details included. Major airports include Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, and Reno, along with many minor airports too. Requires the FS2004 Classic Scenery Libraries 1 and Classic Scenery Libraries 2. By Mike Stevens and Tom Gibson.

FS2004 Moncton, New Brunswick, 1955-1957
By KenLawson
FS2004 Moncton, New Brunswick, 1955-1957 In the period after 1945 Moncton was an important alternate airport for commercial aircraft flying the North Atlantic route between Europe and the U.S.A and Canada. Like Sydney and Goose Bay, it was in a sense a satellite of the much better known Gander, which was however sometimes rendered unusable by adverse weather conditions and especially fog. This scenery is primarily intended for use in the California Classic retro environment created by Tom Gibson and the CalClassic Community, and awaits your Stratocruisers, Douglases and Constellations. Like Moncton and Goose Bay, it was in a sense a satellite of the much better known Gander, which was however sometimes rendered unusable by adverse weather conditions and especially fog. Sydney had two runways equiped with ILS wnen Gander only had one, and approach lights on all runways, unlike Gander. FS2004 Kindley Field Bermuda 1955-1962
By avpingel
FS2004 Kindley Field Bermuda 1955-1962 Kindley Field, on the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, was built as a joint RAF/USAAF facility during the Second World War. Subsequently the RAF area became the civilian terminal while Kindley Air Force Base was operated by the USAF between 1948 and 1970. It was primarily a staging post between the US and Western Europe for land-based planes unable to cross the Atlantic non-stop, very like Ernest Harmon in Newfoundland and the civilian Gander, and like Harmon it closed when the jet age made such bases redundant. Prior to that it hosted no combat units, but the 59th and then 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadrons, the 'Hurricane Hunters', were based there, and also from 1 February 1956 to 15 June 1963 the 303rd ARS Stratotankers were present to support Strategic Air Command and other refueling requirements. After 1970 it became a US Navy facility primarily concerned with tracking Soviet submarines, and was closed at the end of the Cold War. This scenery represents Kindley between 1955 and 1962 and has custom made scenery by Dan French and ai military traffic by Al Von Pingel to add to the downloadable California Classic civilian and MATS traffic available at Tom Gibson's site. Like Harmon and Gander, it was one of the most important airfields of its time. By Ken Lawson, Al Von Pingel, Dan French133 downloads

FS9 Quesnel CYQZ in British Columbia Canada Updated
FS9 Quesnel CYQZ in British Columbia Canada Updated This is a new upload of Quesnel as the first one was incomplete; my fault. Quesnel is around 65 miles south of Prince George, at the junction of the Fraser and Quesnel Rivers. It has a population of less than 10,000 and is reliant on the timber industry and tourism (hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting) in the surrounding area for it's income. The date for this scenery is, once again, around 2010. The airport is on the northern edge of the town and has a runway of 5,500 feet aligned 13-31 with PAPI at both ends. Because of the surrounding terrain runway 13 has a right hand VFR circuit. Parking for GA aircraft is organised by the Quesnel Flying Club in a grassed area adjacent to the concrete and asphalt apron. Also adjacent to the apron is the extraordinary terminal building, and next to that is the comparatively very ordinary building that houses the flying club. There are also the usual airfield and plane maintenance buildings, and at the southern end of the runway two private hangars. There is also a Fire Base housing personnel that either drive from the base or fly by helicopter to deal with forest fires at ground level. The AI included here is for Central Mountain Air and GA. I added to and adjusted the CYXS AI so that there are GA flights between CYXS and CYQZ, so just replace your current CYXS AI with this new one. The video gives a good view on runway 13. FS2004 Scenery--Prince George CYXS
FS2004 Scenery--Prince George CYXS Prince George is centrally located in British Columbia, mid way between the border with the USA in the south and the northern border with the Northern Territories, and around 100 miles west of the eastern border with Alberta. The town now has a population of around 74,000 and is regarded as the province's northern capital. It is at the meeting point of the Fraser and Nechako rivers and the crossroads of highways 16 and 97. It started out as Fort George in the early 1800's when a trading post was established by the Northwest Company, serviced by paddle boats on the rivers. The railway arrived in the area in 1914 and growth continued, albeit slowly due to wars and the financial collapse of the 1930's. Timber and timber products were and still are the mainstay of the area. The date for this scenery is around 2010. I have made some new buildings from memory and the available information online. They are not totally accurate reproductions; for instance I know that the terminal building is brick faced and also has parts that are stone (or metal) faced, but where? As a result I used brick everywhere. The airport management team have continued to grow the activity and services provided with the result that flights and passenger numbers continue to increase. The 15-33 runway was lengthened to the south, (in the period 2003 to 2005) from the original FS9 scenery 7,400 feet to my updated 11,450 feet with central lighting and ILS at the northern end. This made it the third longest runway in Canada. At the same time a loading/unloading cargo area was created with professionally run storage and also a large scale fuel storage. If DHL want to refuel their 737 then they can do so without making prior arrangements. The AI included here is for Air Canada Jazz and an Air Canada 737, Westjet 737 and Dash8, a helicopter company that is based there, Pacific Coastal, Central Mountain Air, and GA. The range of airlines and planes reflects the "northern capital" status of the town. Video is not great, and I think perhaps from before the runway extension. By Roger Wensley

FS2004 Bogota Eldorado Airport (SKBO) in 1960
FS2004 Bogota Eldorado Airport (SKBO) in 1960 This scenery has been released to honor the talent of Reinaldo "Frank" Gonzalez, a prolific artist that expressed himself in many ways. His love for classic aviation and flight simulation combined with his artistic talent to create many beautiful repaints for classic FS aircraft. This was often in response to someone's request for a particular livery that had in some way a personal connection to them. This was typical of Frank's warm heart and helping spirit. He will be missed. By Frank Gonzalez90 downloads

FS2004 1960 Washington National Airport Scenery v3
FS2004 1960 Washington National Airport Scenery v3 Welcome to the capital! This package will take your present Washington DC era from the default to a nicely detailed version representative of 1960. This package will update a lot of the surrounding area to be more accurate, and includes a few details nearby to the airport, including NAS Bolling and Anacostia AFB, a properly placed and detailed Pentagon, and a few other goodies around. In version 3 the landscape has been changed to reflect the industial area KDCA was located in (including roads and rail yards), and modern buildings on the Potomac and on the Mall have been removed. FS2004 1959 Chicago Midway Airport Scenery v2
By avpingel
FS2004 1959 Chicago Midway Airport Scenery v2 This Airport was built from the original Joachim Neff and Tom Gibson version found on CalClassic Website. While this version started out as an attempt to update and add eye candy it is a complete rebuild of the airport. The only things that remain from the original are the North Terminal and some Billboards, everyting else is new or modified in some way. I have attempted to give it the look and feel as the airport was in 1957-59 era but all objects used are library objects. By AL VON PINGEL, JOACHIM NEFF AND TOM GIBSON135 downloads

FS2004 1960s KRDU Raleigh-Durham Airport Scenery
FS2004 1960s KRDU Raleigh-Durham Airport Scenery The new Raleigh–Durham Airport opened on May 1, 1943, with flights by Eastern Airlines. The passenger terminal was built from materials remaining after the construction of four barracks for the Army Air Forces Air Technical Service Command airfield. After World War II, Capital Airlines joined Eastern at RDU; Piedmont Airlines arrived in 1948. The April 1957 Official Airline Guide shows 36 departures a day: twenty Eastern, eight Capital and eight Piedmont. Nonstop flights did not reach beyond Washington, Atlanta, or the Appalachians (but Eastern started a Super Constellation nonstop to Newark in 1958). By Frank Gonzalez and Paul Young95 downloads

FS2004 1962 Birmingham Alabama Airport Scenery
By avpingel
FS2004 1962 Birmingham Alabama Airport Scenery This scenery creates the Birmingham Municipal Airport circa 1962 (KBHM). Continued growth in passenger traffic by 1962 resulted in the construction of a second passenger terminal and a new air traffic control tower, built west of the original 1931 terminal. This was dedicated on February 11, 1962 as the Birmingham Air Terminal. Included are flight plans for the Alabama National Guard flights. During the 1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion, pilots and crews from the Alabama Air National Guard's 117th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing at Birmingham were selected to train Cuban exile fliers in Nicaragua to fly the Douglas B-26 Invader in the close air support role. FS2004 1962 Fort Lauderdale Airport Scenery
FS2004 1962 Fort Lauderdale Airport Scenery At the start of World War II, the airport was commissioned by the United States Navy and renamed Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale. The base was initially used for refitting civil airliners for military service before they were ferried across the Atlantic to Europe and North Africa. NAS Fort Lauderdale was the home base for Flight 19, the five TBM Avengers that disappeared in December 1945, leading in part to the notoriety of the Bermuda Triangle. NAS Fort Lauderdale closed on October 1, 1946, and was transferred to county control, becoming Broward County International Airport. Commercial flights to Nassau began on June 2, 1953, and domestic flights began in 1958–1959: Northeast Airlines and National Airlines DC-6Bs flew nonstop to Idlewild, and Northeast flew nonstop to Washington National. In 1959 the airport opened its first permanent terminal building and assumed its current name By Frank Gonzalez125 downloads
