  15. MSFS Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-4 Red 7 D-FWME Messerschmitt Foundation

Repaint of payware FlyingIron Bf 109

This very accurate and detailed repaint shows real existing BF-109 G-4 in its current color scheme. Today, aircraft is based at Manching Airport Germany. It is owned by Airbus Group.

    History:
Hispano Aviación HA-1112-M1L Buchón C/N 139, coded C.4K-75, was produced in 1950 at Hispano in Spain. Allocated to the 71st squadron, but was never in service. Acquired by Maestranza Aerea de Sevilla 1965. Decommissioned after 216 hours, 50 minutes of pure flying time at Tablada AFB. Was purchased 1966 by Battle of Britain movie production, transported to England (T.G.Mahaddie/Spitfire Productions Ltd.) with the registration G-AWHG. Modified to look like a Bf 109 E-4. Flies as Yellow 11 and Red 14 in the movie ‘Battle of Britain’. Was damaged 1969 during take-off from Le-Havre. Was on ferry flight for the movie ‘Patton’.

Came to Paul Jameson, Betchworth, UK in disassembled condition in 1970. 1974 aircraft was sold in the USA. New owner was Meryl D. Schulke, Orlando, FL with registration N3109G. Later David C. Tallichet, Chino CA. In 1986 new owner MARC (Military Airc Rest Corp), Chino, CA, as N3109, restored in Casper, WY. Aircraft crashes during a test flight in Casper, WY and is restored to resemble a Bf 109 for static display.

Sold to buyers in La Ferté Alais France in 1995/1996. Some time later, the fuselage is taken to the company Bitz Flugzeugbau in Augsburg, Germany. The wing areas remain in France. Aircraft purchased by MAC (Messerschmitt Air Company) in Albstadt/Degerfeld 1997.

Over the following years the plane is restored from scratch and made airworthy by Dieter Beck, Werner Grammel, Wilhelm Heinz and Siegfried Knoll, and is modified to use a DB 605 engine. 2004: Another maiden flight as Bf 109 G-4, flown by Walter Eichhorn.

Suffers serious damage while landing at Albstadt-Degerfeld airfield in 2005. The pilot Siegfried Knoll is unhurt. MAC carries out a total of 103 flights with an overall flight time of 32 hours. In 2007 the owners at the time want to sell the aircraft and contacted EADS. Negotiations run smoothly and EADS becomes the new owner of the Rote Sieben. Maiden flight after successful restoration by MAC in 2008.

During the second flight after restoration, the plane suffers a belly landing in Manching after problems with the landing gear. Another maiden flight takes place after repairs in Manching Germany in 2009.

Belly landing in Roskilde Denmark 2013 after engine problems. New maiden flight after repair was 2014 piloted by Klaus Plasa.

  16. MSFS Bf 109 G-6 Swiss J-705

Repaint of payware FlyingIron Bf 109

This very accurate and detailed repaint shows Swiss Air Force Bf 109 G-6 J-705 Werknummer 163248, former RQ+BL in its color scheme of the end of 1944.

    History
In April 1944, Switzerland came somewhat surprisingly into possession of 12 brand new Bf 109 G-6s despite a strict export ban at the time. How did such a thing come about? It all started with an emergency landing of a Messerschmitt Bf-110G at Dübendorf. The Germans were very annoyed: the night fighter was equipped with a top secret radar for night fights and information about it was not allowed to reach the Allies. In secret talks the following deal was made: Switzerland would destroy the Bf-110 and in return would receive these fully equipped G-6s for a unit price of 500,000 Swiss francs.

The first tranche included the J-705, which was delivered in May 1944 in the standard RLM76/74/75 livery. It was the first to receive the current Swiss Air Force camouflage livery, followed by the white nose - finally supplemented in September 1944 by red and white stripes on the wings and fuselage bands. These neutrality stripes were introduced so that neutral aircraft could be better identified as such by the Allies. J-705 was used by Flieger Regiment 2, Flight Squadron 7, and was stationed at Sion Airfield, Sion.
However, Switzerland had little joy with the Bf 109 G-6s, as the engines had many manufacturing defects due to wartime production and engine damage occurred after only a few hours of operation. The Bf 109 G-6s therefore remained in troop service only until about 1946. J-705 was removed from the Swiss register on 8.9.1947 and scrapped at CH-Dübendorf.

  17. MSFS Boeing F18 RAAF Magpie

Community request for the repaint of the F18 in the Royal Australian Air Force’s Magpie livery.  The Magpie is No. 75 squadron’s mascot.
    ·  Matches real aircraft as close as allowed by the Asobo F18 3d model.
    ·  Exterior textures in 8k.
    ·  Compatible with both the default FA18 and the Super Warrior mod by Touchingcloud
          -  Just one folder to install for both versions of the FA18.
          -  Both use one common shared texture set, so there is no size penalty for having the livery available for both versions of the FA18.
          -   If you install the Touchingcloud Super Warrior after installing this livery, the livery will automatically be available on that aircraft.

The Magpie is a native Australian bird known for swooping down and attacking unsuspecting pedestrians and cyclists during breeding season.  Luckily the breeding season is short and only some Magpies show this behaviour.  Been attacked a number of times myself and it even drew blood once, but for most of the year the Magpie is a peaceful suburban resident.  Just don’t piss one off as they have a really good memory.
