FSX/P3D TAI Douglas DC-3 1962
FSX/P3D TAI Douglas DC-3 1962. This is a repaint of the DC-3 in TAI (Transports Aeriens Intercontinentaux) colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. In 1946 the French government allowed the creation of some independent air carriers. On June 1 of that year TAI (Transports Aeriens Internationaux) was formed, and was based in Orly, France. Flights began on July 1, with a Junkers Ju-52. The following year they purchased 7 ex KLM DC-4s, along with 3 Bristol 170 freighters. In 1954 DC-6Bs started to replace the DC-4s. Their route network serviced mainly Africa, the Far East, the French Pacific territories, and Australasia. Prior to 1956 their network wa mainly in Africa, and Asia. On May 6, 1960, a partnership was formed with Air France, whereby TAI flew the South Pacific leg of the state carrier’s around the world service via New Caledonia and Tahiti. Later, on September 4 1960, TAI began a Douglas DC-8-32 service from Paris to Darwin via Athens, Teheran, Karachi, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, and Saigon, and on September 12, it inaugurated a route from Sydney to Los Angeles via Noumea, Nandi, Papeete, and Honolulu with the DC-8. On September 14 1961, TAI agreed, in principle, to a future merger with Union Aeromaritime de Transport (UAT). The two airlines integrated their schedules in 1962 and the amalgamation of TAI and UAT was completed on October 1, 1963, resulting in a new airline: UTA (Union de Transports Aeriens). This DC-3, F-BGXN, flew for TAI from 1956 to 1959. Textures are DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. By Ted Giana.201 downloads

FSX/P3D Aloha Airlines Douglas DC-3 Circa 1958
FSX/P3D Aloha Airlines Douglas DC-3 Circa 1958. This is a repaint of the DC3 in Aloha Airlines colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Aloha was founded in 1946 under the name of Trans Pacific Airways. With a single DC-3, they offered passenger charter and cargo services between the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. On February 11 1949 they officially became a scheduled service airline. Their main rival was Hawaiian Airlines, and in 1957 they changed their name to Aloha Airline to better compete against Hawaiian. In 1959 a modern F-27 joined the fleet, which forced the retirement of Aloha's aging DC-3 fleet by the mid 1960s. They also introduced the Viscount 745D in June 1961. BAC-111s were acquired in 1966. However, the British made airliners had limitations in the very humid environment of Hawaii, and in 1967 Aloha ordered 2 Boeing 737-200s with a further 6 in 1968 to replace the BAC-111s. The 737s were destined to become the workhorse of the airline, with over 60 being used by Aloha over the years. Their iconic "Flower Power" livery was unveiled in 1969, and was reintroduced in 2006 on one of their 737 as a retro livery. Due to heavy financial problems caused by various factors, Aloha unfortunately ceased operations on March 31 2008. This DC-3, N2804D, was leased by Aloha in the late 1950s. Textures are DDS DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. By Ted Giana.233 downloads

FSX/P3D Trans-Texas Airways DC-3/C-47
FSX/P3D Trans-Texas Airways DC-3/C-47. This is a repaint of the DC3 in Trans-Texas Airways colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Trans-Texas Airways (TTA) began operations in 1940, at Houston, as an aircraft sales and service company named Aviation Enterprises. The name was changed to Trans-Texas Airways on June 21 1947, and scheduled Douglas DC-3 services were inaugurated on October 11. Initially, Trans-Texas Airways flew routes only within Texas, but the key year in the history of Trans Texas Airways was 1966. That year its route network was significantly strengthened by the acquisition of new feeder routes from Eastern Airlines. This gave them virtual control of the entire feeder route system of the U.S. Southwest. Following this, TTA became an international airline in August 1967, with flights to Monterrey, Tampico, and Vera Cruz in Mexico. The expansion, however, created financial difficulties for TTA. This led to a takeover of TTA, in late 1968, by Minnesota Enterprises. The stockholders then voted to change the company name and corporate image the following spring. Thus, on March 1 1969, Trans-Texas Airways became Texas International Airlines. Textures are DXT5. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. By Ted Giana.180 downloads

FSX/P3D Olympic Airways Douglas DC-3
FSX/P3D Olympic Airways Douglas DC-3. This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Olympic Airways colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Greece's Olympic Airways was founded by the enigmatic shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, in 1957. He was the only individual in the world of that day to own a national airline. In July 1956, the Greek State signed an agreement with Onassis, for the exclusive use of air transport in Greece. On April 6, 1957 Olympic Airways came onto the scene by replacing Greece's previous national airline; TAE. Olympic received their first jet in 1960, the DH Comet. Olympic Airways' Olympic rings logo was the definition of the golden years of civil aviation, classy and very eye-catching. Due to tragedy striking Onassis in 1973 with the death of his only son, who was a pilot himself and was going to be the new head of Olympic Airways. Onnasis heartbroken, sold Olympic to the Greek state a few months later. He passed away himself in 1975. Olympic operated over a dozen DC-3s. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX & P3D v1-3. By Ted Giana.170 downloads
