FlightSimExpo Releases Initial 2023 Event Schedule, Travel Details

HOUSTON – September 23, 2022 – One of the world’s largest dedicatedflight simulation events, FlightSimExpo lands in Houston on June23-25, 2023. Held across two locations near Houston’s Hobby Airport(HOU), the 2023 event will offer flight simulation fans the chance tointeract with developers, try out the latest hardware, hear the latestdevelopments, and meet fellow sim enthusiasts.

As in previous years, event seminars will be livestreamed foronline-only attendees to participate from anywhere.

Initial 2023 Event Schedule

The three-day 2023 event schedule offers a jam-packed weekendthat’s perfect for avgeeks and flight simmers from around theworld. The event kicks off on Friday, June 23 with a series ofseminars and announcements from some of simulation’s biggestdevelopers. Later on Friday, registered attendees are invited to joina welcome reception and social event featuring light fare and a freedrink. Friday seminars and the welcome reception take place at theDoubleTree Houston Hobby.

On Saturday and Sunday, the event shifts to the Lone Star FlightMuseum, a 130,000 sq. ft. air-conditioned museum located on EllingtonAirport (EFD), about a 15-minute drive from the DoubleTree and HobbyAirport. Nestled amongst warbirds, fighter jets, and drones, attendeeswill find hands-on flight simulation exhibits where they can try thelatest in flight simulation software and hardware. Speaker rooms willfeature how-to seminars and educational discussions throughout theweekend.

Admission to the museum is included with FlightSimExporegistration. The facility hosts over 20 aircraft on static display,the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, Redbird flight simulators (includingcertified devices), and much more. Attendees will be able to bookloggable flight time with a Certificated Flight Instructor oncertified simulators and purchase rides in the museum’s vintageaircraft throughout the weekend.

Travel Details

As in previous years, FlightSimExpo has negotiated significantlydiscounted hotel rooms for attendees. This year, rooms are availableat two locations. Rooms at DoubleTree Houston Hobby—also the host ofall scheduled Friday events—are available for $109 pernight. Attendees can also stay at the nearby Houston Marriott South atHobby Airport for $89 per night.

Bookings made at these special FlightSimExpo rates also includefree transportation to/from Hobby Airport, parking, morning coffee,and more. All quoted rates exclude taxes and are only available toattendees of FlightSimExpo. To book, visitflightsimexpo.com/travel.

To help make travel as easy as possible, FlightSimExpo hasnegotiated special rates on flights from Delta Air Lines. Using alink or booking code from the FlightSimExpo website, savings of up to10% are available on Delta flights. Organizers also expect thatdiscounts of up to 10% will be available from Southwest Airlines whentheir June 2023 flight schedule is released for bookings later thisyear.

Transportation between the hotels and Lone Star Flight Museum isnot provided, but organizers are working to secure additional traveldiscounts and packages with rental car and rideshare providers. Other Activities

As one of the country’s biggest aerospace centers, Houston offersFlightSimExpo attendees plenty to do before and after the event. Theorganizers are working with Space Center Houston, the FAA, andairlines with facilities in the area to arrange tours and otheractivities for attendees throughout the weekend. The event alsoincludes an exclusive dinner on Friday night for Flight SimulationAssociation (FSA) Captains.
