This will meanmore announcements, but often much further in advance of actual releasethan previously: In the past we generally waited until a 3rd party module wasquite far along in development; however, this has resulted induplicated efforts and inefficiencies. Instead, once a 3rd partymodule has a completed license agreement, we will now announce it toallow the 3rd party to “plant a flag†and avoid duplicatedefforts. Once a 3rd party project is roughly six months away fromrelease based on an internal evaluation, more news and updates will bemade available. TheF-14A/B Tomcat's AIM-54 Phoenix now boasts refined and correctedperformance based on updated CFD data analysis. Improvements have also been made to the DCS: M-2000C Mirageautopilot. Significant fixes and additions to DCS: JF-17 Thunder, DCS:AV-8B NightAttack, DCS: MiG-19P Farmer, and other aircraft have alsobeen made. A number of additions are also included in our paidcampaigns. These largely uninhabited, volcanic atollsinclude: AnatahanSariganGuguanAlamaganPaganAgrihanAsuncionMaug Islands (North, East and West Islands)Farallon de PajarosThe update also includes breaking waves against shorelines, animproved seabed elevation map, a pair of new unique buildings, and anon-paved airfield on the Pagan island. The TSD can be displayed on either multipurposedisplay in the pilot or co-pilot/gunner cockpits, and it will be yourprimary source for navigation, situational awareness, storing points,and more. The TSD can be interfaced with using the fixed and variable actionbuttons arrayed around the MPDs and the TSD cursor for hands on cyclicand collective TSD control. You can select between chart, satellite,and digital moving maps. Both Navigation and Attack phases can be selected, and storedpoints can be created and set as an acquisition source. Source

Visible on the wingtip is one of theCommon Missile Warning System (CMWS) sensors that can passively detectsurface-to-air and air-to-air missile launches using in-bandultraviolet detectors. It can then manually or automatically engagethe Chaff and Flare dispenser as part of the Aircraft SurvivabilityEquipment (ASE) suite. We are also working on the external stores and pylons that canarticulate to provide launcher elevation. When landing, the pylonsautomatically translate to ground stow mode, so that they are parallelwith the level terrain. Several skins will be provided for the U.S. Army and several othercountries. Theupdate, going by the comments, is due out on the 14th of this month: In the 2.7 update for DCS World, we will introduce spacestabilization for the optically guided Maverick versions using theDisplay Management Switch (DMS). While holding the DMS switch forward,the Maverick will enter space stabilization mode and allow you to slewthe seeker more easily onto a target. While in space stabilization,the Maverick seeker will stabilize along a heading, but will moverforward at the same speed as the aircraft. By placing the Maverickseeker crosshair over a target and releasing the DMS switch, theseeker will attempt to acquire a tracking lock on the target. Source

The WACQ mode has both a fixed 6-bar, 30-degrees (60-degrees total)of azimuth at 10 nm range and an uncaged mode that allows the TDC toslew the space-stabilized scan center. SPOT mode enables you to designate a location within the tacticalarea of the air-to-air radar display and depress and hold the TDC toinitiate a 22-degree search centered on the TDC location. /images/notams/notams21/dcs0322.jpgHere is a post from DCS explaining how the damage modellingfeatures of their upcoming Mosquito work: The damage model for the Mossie considers the internal woodstructure of the airplane and uses each internal element of theaircraft - oil, air, hydraulic and cooling systems, engine, throttle,trim, and the airframes main strength spars and stringers to calculatethe visual damage. We are now able to consider all these factors, which in turnenables us to more accurately simulate damage to the airframe and theeffects on the flight model. For example, damage to the wing skin willlead to a decrease in the lift and cause more drag, damage to the sparwill cause strength reduction and potentially wing snap under certainstrains. In a recent DCS: F-16C Viper update, we updated how the alignmentof the INS NORM (normal) system works to be more realistic. Whenperforming a cold start, you must either enter or confirm the latitudeand longitude coordinates of your aircraft on the INS DED page withintwo minutes after starting a NORM alignment. This is required for not only for correct navigation data, but alsocorrect display of information on the HUD. This video is provided to better help understand this. Source
